Pymble Players Inc. Our theatre is an 84 seat, professionally equipped theatre, at the corner of Mona Vale Road and Bromley Avenue, Pymble.

is one of Sydney's most enduring and successful community theatre associations - committed to producing an entertaining and varied program of classic and contemporary plays that entertain our audiences.

MEET THE DIRECTOR
Declan Moore

Hailing from Northern Ireland, Declan performed in over 100 productions before starting to direct and choreograph. With another 100+ productions now under his directorial belt, he has many fond highlights: ‘Titanic’, ‘Hello Dolly!’, ‘Mary Poppins’, ‘Chess’, ‘Evita’, ‘Barnum’, ‘The Last Five Years’, ‘Newsies’ and ‘The Phantom of the Opera’.

In 2019, he and his partner, David, set up 'D2 Productions' in memory of his late mum, Margaret. From their 13 productions so far, they have raised over $32K for Dementia Australia!

Declan is delighted to be working alongside all the talented, passionate people who make up Pymble Players.

MEET THE CAST
Ciara Briggs as Karen’s Niece

Ciara Briggs is a Sydney-based actor with a passion for both stage and screen. She holds a Bachelor of Acting & Production from Charles Sturt University.

On stage, her recent credits include ‘The School for Scandal’ with Lane Cove, ‘Heartbreaker’ for Short & Sweet, and ‘Anatomia’ with Notre Dame University.

She also recently wrapped on ‘Tin Crows’, an independent short film starring alongside Shane Emmett. On the commercial side, Ciara recently featured in One School Global's brand campaign for Fox & Bear, a Maltesers spec ad, and Wellways Mental Health media ad ‘ ’.

Ciara is thrilled to dive headfirst into the mischief of this play and can't wait to see what madness unfolds!

MEET THE CAST
Harry Moorby as Richard Greenwood

Harry graduated from Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, in 2022 with a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Acting and Performance design). After graduating he moved to Sydney to complete NIDA’s Open Studio: Screen Acting course in 2023 as he continued to develop his craft.

Harry is excited to be sharing the stage with this talented cast.

Some of Harry’s previous theatre credits include Tommy Ross in ‘Carrie the Musical’ and Sky in ‘Mamma Mia!’ – both with Blackout – as well as Francis Flute in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ with Shakespearience Australia, and Ross in ‘The Removalist’ for Box’d Theatre Company.

Harry can’t wait to share all the wacky chaos that Hamlington Hall has to offer!

MEET THE CAST
Kate Kelly as Karen Sharp

One fortuitous day in late 2022, Kate decided that 20 years since last treading the boards was quite long enough! She successfully auditioned for ‘Rapture’ at Pymble Players, and has subsequently appeared in ‘Gaslight’ and ‘The Spook’ (both with Pymble Players), as well as ‘The Revlon Girl’ with Hunters Hill Theatre and in ‘Away’ at the Theatre on Chester.

She has also stage-managed a number of shows, which may prove helpful in this latest role of ‘Karen the Stage Manager’!

In a previous life, Kate also performed with Essai Youth Theatre, Unley Youth Theatre, SA Youth Opera and John Edmund Theatre in Adelaide, and with Peking Players in Beijing.

MEET THE CAST
Murray Fane as Barney Simpson

When Murray heard about this madcap, hilarious and challenging play at the Pymble Players launch, he knew he had to be in it - perhaps because he feels worryingly close to his character of Barney!

Murray’s recent roles with Pymble Players include Inspector Lorde in ‘Spider’s Web’, Frank in ‘Sweet Road’, and the crooked father James in ‘White Sheep of the Family’.

Murray also enjoys musicals, with some recent appearances being Col. Pickering in ‘My Fair Lady’ at Normanhurst, and Frank Abigail Sr in ‘Catch Me If You Can’ with Hills Musical Society.

Murray has previously enjoyed playing many characters, but never so many at the same time! What could possibly go wrong!

MEET THE CAST
Emily Newberry as Phillipa Chidley

Emily is thrilled to be making her Pymble Players debut in this hilarious, fun production. Trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz and tap, her most recent stage role was Kristine in ‘A Chorus Line’ for Willoughby Theatre Company in the beautiful Concourse Theatre, Chatswood.

Other theatre credits include ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ and ‘Cats’ (both with Willoughby Theatre Company), ‘Heathers’ (UTS Backstage) and ‘The Magic Flute’ (Central Coast Opera).

‘Midnight Murder at Hamlington Hall’ is not only her Pymble Players debut, but also marks Emily’s first straight play. She is both excited and keen to bring this zany and madcap comedy to the stage alongside such talented players and team.

MEET THE CAST
Michael Mulvenna as Shane Tweed

Michael comes to ‘Hamlington Hall’ with lots of experience both on and off stage. Previous roles include Paul in ‘Drinking Habits’ and Bernard in ‘Boeing Boeing’ for Hunters Hill Theatre, Mr Mushnik in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ for Noteable, Mr Heere in ‘Be More Chill’ and Feldzeig in ‘Drowsy Chaperone’, and roles in ‘Spamalot’, ‘Arcadia’, ‘The Frogs’ and ‘Urinetown’ with UTS Backstage.

Michael has also been involved as Assistant Director, Producer and Scriptwriter on various productions.

Michael loves a bit of madness in any show (this one practically requires straight-jackets!), and he can’t wait to stage this production with Pymble Players.

It is with profound sadness that we acknowledge the passing today of our Vice President, Tom Sweeney OAM.

Tom was a tireless champion of theatre, whose support has meant so much to so many of us over the years.

A true gentleman and friend to all.

We’ll miss you, Tom.

Our love and thoughts are with his wife, Joy, and with his family and friends at this time.

On a personal note, I developed an enduring bond and camaraderie with Tom over 44 years. How could you not love him! The stage is dimmer without you, my friend, and you will be forever in our hearts and minds.
