We've come to the final day. ❤️

Today we close HANSEL & GRETEL and INTO THE WOODS at Her Majesty's Theatre, and it’s hard to believe we’re already here.

A huge thank you to the incredible creative team, Lead by Dane Lam, Anthony Hunt, Constantine Costi, Shannon Burns, Jonathon Oxlade & Bernie Tan-Hayes, who have shaped these productions, challenged us, inspired us and given us two very special worlds to step into.

And to our stage management teams, crew, wardrobe, wigs, hair & makeup, props, lighting, sound, technical teams and every person working behind the scenes. thank you. So much of what makes these shows special happens away from the stage, and we couldn’t do it without you.

To every performer who has stepped onto the stage, thank you for bringing these stories to life night after night.

And to you, our audience. Thank you for listening, laughing and sharing these stories with us.

There’s something pretty special about spending a whole day at Her Majesty’s Theatre. ✨

This Saturday, August 29, you can see two State Opera shows in one day: INTO THE WOODS at 1pm and HANSEL & GRETEL at 7:30pm.

Opera is such a complete experience. Incredible voices alongside a live orchestra. Sets, costumes and lighting bringing another world to life. And then there are the unspoken intricacies and messages within the score - things that can be felt in a way that’s difficult to put into words.

You can book dinner on Gouger Street between performances, take a walk, grab a drink, and then come back to the theatre for another story.

But what we love most about our art form, is the permission to stop for a few hours and simply be immersed somewhere else.

August 29. Two shows. One very special day at the theatre. ❤️
