Here is (finally) my painted version of one of the incredible photos the II crew managed to take during their journey around the moon. I definitely should've kept it simpler, especially for the small size of canvas. But have you seen the actual photo? So many details if you zoom in. I'm not good enough of an artist to be able to ignore those/paint more abstract 😅

One issue I'm now facing is the small canvas itself. Besides it being crookedly cut, there is also not enough canvas left on the edges to be able to stretch it properly. So for now this is only just a loose piece of canvas, until I figure out how to properly finish it. Suggestions welcome!

Now I kinda want to do a much bigger version lol.

Day 117 of painting every day. Haven't checked in for a week again, but I painted a bit every day. Help, this is taking too long; I'm being too detailed but I can't help myself. The details on the Artemis photo are too good and too many to ignore 🙃

Days 102-103 of painting every day. I thought I'd be further along for this little painting, but it's taking longer than anticipated because I'm getting too caught up in detail. Besides that, I'm still only a few days post surgery, so I can't paint for long at a time. Even though I've got a setup so I can paint from the couch. I just get a bit tired quickly 😴

Day 101 of painting every day. I started mapping out the texture of the moon. Trying to be somewhat accurate, but not too much. This is the "trust the process" stage, it should look much different at the end.

Day 100 of painting every day! Can't believe I made it this far. I wish I had a special video to celebrate it, but the mere start of a small painting is what will have to suffice. At least I'll have plenty of time to work on these types of small paintings, from my couch, in the next couple of weeks.
