It’s been a whirlwind few weeks but we made it and we’re back! Very late nights and very, very long weekends moving out and rebuilding - if only the build was as quick as in the video 😄 We are so happy with how the new studio looks and can’t thank the small team of dads who helped enough. There are no words that can express our appreciation. We are so happy to be back!

We are so proud of Kendall, Allegra, and Rosie, who were selected by BAL to demonstrate their ballet grades from 2025 at the Teacher Development Day as part of the BAL Summer School — a personal development event for teachers. 🩰✨
Our dancers showcased their skills in front of all the attending teachers, highlighting their technique, dedication, and hard work throughout the year. It’s such an amazing recognition to be chosen to represent their grades!
Adding to the excitement, Mr Mike, who is an examiner for BAL, was also asked to teach classes during the day, sharing his expertise and passion with fellow teachers.
We are so proud of our students for their hard work and commitment and it’s incredible to see them shining on such a special stage! 💖

Every ballet journey starts somewhere

Our classical ballet program starts from preschool age, with classes available for all ages as dancers grow and develop. We follow the Ballet Australasia syllabus, offering yearly examinations for students who wish to take part.

Classes are taught by a fully qualified and experienced team of teachers, led by Mike, a current Ballet Australasia Examiner with over 30 years of teaching experience in classical ballet.

Hi everyone! We felt like it was the right time to properly re-introduce ourselves.
I’m Mike, and together with my wife Keira, we founded Dance NRG in 2001 from a function room at Liverpool Catholic Club. After outgrowing this space we moved the studio to Austral before finally making the move to our current studio space in Prestons in 2015 — this year marks our 26th year in operation, which is pretty special to say out loud.
Both Keira and I have danced our entire lives, and that love for dance naturally led us into teaching. I started teaching dance when I was 16 years old, which means I now have over 30 years of experience teaching all styles of dance to students of all ages. I’m a current Ballet Australasia Examiner and fully qualified as a dance teacher, gymnastics coach, and personal trainer.
Keira has over 25 years experience as a dance teacher and is also a primary school teacher, currently working as K–2 Assistant Principal at her school. Her understanding of children, learning styles, and development plays a huge role in how our studio is run.
We often hear the phrase “family owned and operated,” and for us that couldn’t be more true. We’re raising our three daughters and they’ve grown up dancing alongside the students we teach. Being dancers, teachers, and parents means we truly understand how important it is to nurture confidence, recognise individual strengths, and support every child’s unique journey.

This studio has always been more than a business to us — it’s our family, our passion, and something we’re incredibly proud of.
