Calum Hughes - Ferdinand
Calum Hughes is an experienced actor, presenter, writer, and host. His career has primarily spanned New Zealand with some international work. A passion for Shakespeare has driven much of his academic and performance life since age 12, including a specialisation in Shakespeare at the University of Waikato. Calum has toured nationally with The Ugly Shakespeare Company, acting in over 100 performances of 2 plays in 80+ schools, and internationally with the NZ Young Shakespeare Company, including performances at The Globe Theatre in London. He has acted in over 60 theatrical productions, 10 different Shakespearean plays, directed, written and produced theatre, and tutored young actors. Calum also writes and performs original music as a singer and rapper, accompanying himself on ukulele and guitar. More recently, he has focused on stand-up comedy, event hosting, and social media video creation. His love for performance comes from a passion for people, history and the power of storytelling.
