Small Time Criminals (2016-2017) was a game in which a team of up to six players cooperated to steal valuables from a corrupt investment bank. It was a real world simulation: a game that uses props, set dressing and lighting to create an immersive, realistic experience. You’d be figuring out where valuables are hidden or locked up, how to find or access them, and which ones might be worth the most
. There was no “correct” way to approach Small Time Criminals – which valuables you tried to steal, and in what order, were up to you. This also gave players the possibility of returning and trying different strategies to improve their team's score! Small Time Criminals was rated M15+ for content. Small Time Criminals was presented by Pop Up Playground, one of Australia's leading live games companies. Pop Up Playground made live games, immersive play, digitally supported games and street sports. They made games for the City of Melbourne, Bell Shakespeare, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the State Library of Victoria. Pop Up Playground hosts Fresh Air, Melbourne's International Festival of Games, and presented games in Copenhagen and New York.
