I've got 24hrs to do some design work on the tile splashback and apart the tiler, AND......empty the whole studio out, move the wardrobe and fridge in place, and lots and lots of cleaning.

Please universe let this all happen with ease, and let it all be done before midnight! Pleeeeeeease.

Thanks for helping out Sally, keeping me company, and the laughs 😃

Thanks Paul for doing more little bits and pieces, helping me to get closer to the finish line.
Today was all about fixing up the eave, from underneath and above. I should invest in a super tall ladder like this! I had one many years ago but it was super heavy and sold it. Hoping they have one these days that are lighter.

Not only did I do the flashing on top, I also managed to empty 3 buckets full of garden growing in the gutter, and picking up debris.

Hopefully the leaks on a training day are no more.

This is a case of too many chefs in the kitchen and making assumptions. Plumber now has to come back to finish off the install of the hot water system, test the dishwasher and the aircon drainpipe, and check that we have running hot water in both kitchens and bathroom.

Renovations, love to hate them. The hardest thing about it all is relying on tradies, unfortunately. I keep hitting walls where the bad ones keep creeping in, like a bad smell. Though I finally have a good network of fabulous ones on board, so kudos to that...

Thanks so much to my dear friends Ana and Andrew for answering my plea: heading to my studio to find my kitchen tap, which was left in the powder blue bathroom cupboard.
It was needed for the kitchen bench top, being installed the following morning.
I knew I forgot something before I left for Japan....

18/04/2026

Still hadn't packed for Japan, which we have to leave home for in just under 12hrs.

And I'm doing a 3 in one undercoat by Taubmans in the whole storage area, where the kitchen is being installed this coming Tuesday. Fingers crossed it happens as there's been delays on both ends to make this kitchen happen.

I will be so ecstatic once it's installed, just like my reaction when the kitchenette was installed downstairs late last year.

I managed to get home just before 7pm and finally eat something for the day. And pack, and get organised. Finished at 11pm, I think. Up at 530am.

Goodbye, cold Melbourne, for a few days while I have a well deserved escape in Asia.

Yayyy.

New opening planned for mid/late May.

Took 10 months to finally get my new door and windows to the front of the shop. What an ordeal it was. I've opened up another can of worms doing this. So I'm going to persevere, and get it all done and the detriment of not running any classes til is done.

The unfortunate thing about it all is having to rely on several tradies who continue to not respond. How fun is that!
(*Insert sarcasm here*)

There's more to show you. I'll post again in a day or 2. Apologies for my silence. I am still alive. I am still renovating.. and things are moving at the studio. However, slowly.

The window ppl will come back to clean all the windows and do trims around the interior and exterior. I have to install my door sensor still, they refused to do it, even though it was part of my contract. Lovely. I haven't paid the final 5% payment yet. Not until it's all complete.
