Get Well Circus

Get Well Circus Circus-meets-film, Get Well Soon is a triumph in finding the humour and humanity in our healthcare.

After navigating 4 tireless years of pandemic-related setbacks, this champion collective of Australian circus artists, in collaboration with Chris Bennett of Underground Media, is premiering their first digital show on Melbourne Fringe Festival’s Digital Hub, set to launch across the world on Friday 14th of October.

With a cast of over 20 Australian circus artists, writers and creatives, Get We

ll Soon is a powerful exploration of experiencing a chronic health condition. It features voices of artists with disabilities, chronic pain and illnesses to weave together a community narrative of the struggles and triumphs in getting a diagnosis. Get Well Soon is a poignant, comedic reclamation of the unpredictability of chronic illnesses. This show has been created by and for the community who can’t always Get Well Soon.

"I feel so seen.... to watch these artists that are performing and creating their art while living with chronic illnesses and disabilities, I just feel seen. I just know my people are out there."

These incredible words from That's So Chronic have been such a rewarding moment for us after a 4 year process. In a digital show, we don't get to hear our audiences applaud, so to have this from Jess has felt so loud and rewarding.

We're streaming anywhere in the world until the 23rd, you can grab a digital ticket from Melbourne Fringe: https://melbournefringe.com.au/event/get-well-soon/

We had an amazing opportunity to be a Spotlight company with That's So Chronic podcast earlier in our process. Go subscribe to this absolute powerhouse!

Circus-meets-film in these experiences of chronic illness, waiting rooms and unsolicited medical advice, Get Well Soon is a triumph in finding both humour and humanity in complex conversations about our healthcare.

In collaboration with Underground Media and after unfurling years of pandemic impacts, Get Well has logged on and uploaded their circus world to the Melbourne Fringe digital stage.

Whether you’ve seen too many doctors, you are a doctor, or you love someone who's going through it: Get Well Soon will inspire and advocate for the strength in getting a diagnosis (and the circus of getting one).

Tickets online to premiere anywhere in the world, from October 14th at: https://melbournefringe.com.au/event/get-well-soon/

GET WELL SOON | Fringe World Festival Perth 2022

ID: Three acrobats with woeful expressions sit on the floor wrapped around each, against a purple background. They are surrounded by teddy bears and bouquets of flowers. Maxx on the left holds a ribbon tied to floating silver helium balloons which read "Get Well Soon". Emily on the right holds her leg up at a straight angle while she rests her arm on Abbie's back, who sits exhausted centre front with her head in her hands.

Check out these awesome shows on at FRINGE WORLD Festival to celebrate today. In addition to shows having sessions with Auslan Interpretation and wheelchair access, we also have some amazing events with performers who explore their experiences of living with disability.
