Stonnington Symphony Producing professional-standard, affordably-priced concerts in accessible venues

Stonnington Symphony’s purpose is to offer audiences professional-standard, affordably-priced concerts at easily accessible venues. The orchestra is an incorporated business and a registered charity made up of both playing and non-playing members constituted for the sole purpose of making symphonic music at the highest possible level for the edification and enjoyment of both performers and audienc

es. Programs performed by Stonnington Symphony are designed to attract a diverse public within the Stonnington community, as well as audiences and players from municipalities throughout Greater Melbourne and beyond. As one of the larger arts organisations in the City of Stonnington, a commitment to community awareness and involvement remains central to Stonnington Symphony’s daily operations. Stonnington Symphony aims to continually evolve, maintaining its relevance as a significant contributor to the arts landscape of the City of Stonnington, greater Melbourne and surrounding country areas. Originally known as the Malvern Symphony Orchestra, Stonnington Symphony was established in 1983 by a relatively small group of local musicians wishing to share a mutual love of and skill in playing symphonic music. Now in its 28th year, the orchestra can boast a membership of over 100 musicians and supporters. The organisation is fortunate to be supported by several business entities in the Stonnington area, most particularly our major sponsors, City of Stonnington.
