Off to Alice Springs, calling it home for a little while. Happy days pre departure, saying some wholesome goodbyes to all the wonderful things in my world! On route with these two to make the drive up oh so sweet and maaaybe a little bit spicy, wish us luck in this squishy wagon of mine 🌶️ ❤️

My last piece of work from 2024 and certainly one of my favourite works for the year, Titled, Looking out to Nobbies, from Shoreham Beach. A view that very much lives in the heart now, for me its comfort. Painted as a commission piece for a sweet family ❤️ thank you

*special giveaway*

This was my first painting I ever painted for myself back around 2013-14 ish when I was more of a portrait artist and using palette knives, applying thick layers of paint.

Bob Marley’s music and lyrics were always grounding, reminding me of mellow summer days, enjoying the simple and sweet delights of life.

I feel it’s time for Bob to change hands as I move homes, so I’d like to pass this big and very special painting on to its next human to enjoy for themselves or to gift to someone else.

How to win this oldie but a goodie, Bob Marley oil painting:
1. Tag someone who might want to have big Bob Marley on their wall
2. Share this post and tag me in your story for an extra chance

❤️

Thanks people! Will announce the new owner soon :)

A privilege to spend time learning, listening, connecting, laughing, cooking, playing, tearing up, sipping cuppas and sharing stories on the lands of the Guugu Yimithurr and Kuku yalanji people, FNQ. Some old faces and new ones, until next time 💘

I came across these words by yesterday through (slide through to read yourself) and they kind of melted me, I resonated big time. It builds on some words exchanged with around my curiosities about expressing yourself or a concept as a creative, giving it justice, but also not wanting to get it wrong, offend people yet wanting to be able to express how you feel and the ideas that circulate in your head….so I guess what I’m sort of saying is that this residency has allowed me the time, space and relaxedness to sink in to the opportunity to play and express some of my more intimate thoughts and feelings about being a human, a female human on stolen lands, in this Country, in this World. So here we are, having a go at letting the tap pour and feeling quite vulnerable, uncomfortable, excited, curious and alive in the process, it’s a bit different but each work carries a great deal of depth for me, and maybe you also, once you get to know each pieces story.

1. Eucalypt and her baby, Ballart.
2. Self portrait, peering out of the window, it’s looking at me.
3. You’re looking the wrong way.
4. I should’ve taken it with a leaf of salt(bush)
5. Ben Quiltys wise words.

Feeling really grateful to have been selected by the panel from to take part in the 2024 MPRG Artist-in-Residence Program (AiR) at Monmar (Police Point Shire Park and Point Nepean National Park).

From next week, I’ll be getting to spend two whole weeks here on the lands of the Boonwurrung-balug, one of the six clans of the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation of Victoria.

I’m looking forward to walking amongst these lands with intention and presence, connect to place, become aware of the significant cultural heritage of this site and respond through creating thoughtful, experimental works.

Thank you so much for the opportunity 💚
