G’day
Well, with heavy heads and broken hearts, it’s time to say goodbye. After close to 9 years, Heartbreaker Studio will be shutting down.
I’d like to thank anyone who stepped through the doors and got a tattoo at Julia st, from the smallest tattoo to the biggest, I’m appreciative of them all. All the laughs, the tears, the good and the bad, those stories will echo through that quirky little building for an eternity. That brings me some joy. To be able to build a little sanctuary away from the bu****it of city life was more than we ever expected, I now realise we made a place for other people to be able to enjoy that too.
And a big thanks to the guest artists that swung thru over the years, and to Aaron and Kita for giving it a crack. Hope it sparked a bit of creative weirdness for you all! Good luck wherever that journey takes you!
But all dreams must come to an end.
Tattooing and art and creativity are things I love, and am passionate about. Business running, not so much. It’s been a tough run at times. Not bouncing back from spine surgery has been the final straw.
I’d like to especially thank Crystel, and her family, for their love and support over the years. Without her, none of this would have happened, or stayed afloat as long as it has. Thank you.
It can, and has been, fu***ng hard juggling a business and any life, but hopefully we can get back to some more life now. Whatever form that takes.
As I’m not operating at 100% capacity these days, I won’t be taking on any new work.
Existing clients with ongoing work, please reach out to organise a time over the next while to finish off any tattoos.
Cheers
Dave and Crystel.
