The Portarlington Mussel Festival is seeking a passionate and organised volunteer Secretary to join our wonderful committee. ✨

This is a rewarding opportunity to help support one of the Bellarine’s most iconic community events while working alongside a dedicated team of volunteers who love Portarlington and bringing our festival to life.

🗂️ The role includes:
• Preparing meeting agendas & minutes
• Managing committee correspondence
• Assisting with administration and organisation
• Helping keep the committee running smoothly throughout the year

The Portarlington Mussel Festival wouldn’t be possible without the incredible volunteers who help bring this vibrant and iconic event to life each year — from our volunteer-organised event planning committee, to our wonderful volunteer-run community groups, and the wider Portarlington community.

Thank you to all our dedicated volunteers for your time, energy, passion and community spirit. 🌊🦪✨

This year’s theme, “Your Year to Volunteer,” is a wonderful reminder that every contribution makes a difference and there’s a place for everyone to get involved. 💛

💙 To the Portarlington Community – Thank You! 💙

Last night we had the pleasure of celebrating and thanking the incredible volunteers who give their time, energy and heart to our festival. We simply couldn’t do it without you.

In our Festival President’s address, he asked an important question — how do you measure success?
Is it the number of stall holders?
The crowds through the gates?
The entertainment?
The funds raised?
The tourism boost for our town?

For us, it’s all of these things — and more.

2026 was no exception to the high standard of our iconic festival. We are incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together and even more thrilled to reinvest our profits straight back into our beautiful region — supporting local initiatives and fuelling future growth (see full list in the comments below).
