The Northern Festival Centre is a fully equipped multi-purpose arts centre and can accommodate a diverse range of conferences, performing arts, film screenings, seminars and product launches. Within the Centre are the Keith Michell Theatre, The Ballroom and meeting rooms (Barbara Welch Room and Council Room).

Ever wondered how Port Pirie's streets got their names?

Visit Stories of Port Pirie's Streets Historic display at the Northern Festival Centre and uncover the history behind some of our city's most familiar roads, from when they were named to the people they commemorate.

Originally part of the Library's South Australia History Festival 2026 exhibition, Honouring the Past: Stories Written in Our Streets & Stones, the display also featured local cemetery histories and was presented as part of the Winter SALA Festival and Port Pirie's 150th celebration year.

Come and explore the people, places and stories that have helped shape Port Pirie over the past 150 years.
