The People’s Choice in the ArtWalk x Luminance Young Artist Exhibition is Blue Feathers, by 14-year-old Wren McDowell.
Well done, Wren. It’s an evocative and engaging artwork.
“Art has always been a way for me to find serenity and stillness in a chaotic world,” says Wren.
“I love to illustrate movement and shifting forms in nature, through expression and texture and body language in a way that no string of words can capture.”
That’s a wrap for us, for now.
It’s been a hugely rewarding weekend, with ArtWalk on Friday and the Hastings Arts Trail on Saturday & Sunday. Close to 3,000 people visited the exhibition during this time, and 250 of you voted in the People’s Choice. Thank you.
Thanks also to Wendy Stokes for co-judging the exhibition and sharing her insight.
This exhibition was proudly supported by ArtWalk, Wauchope Vets and Alice’s Art Craft & Paper Supplies.
It was a blast being on Town Green for ArtWalk; also glad to have been in Make/Space Port Central for the rest of the time, courtesy of and Port Central.
Finally, and importantly: congratulations to the 15 talented young local artists whose work made this exhibition.
Luke Baker, Sophie Burt, Katie Chambers, Melodie Cicak, Lana Cooper, Jake Durbin, Hayley Galea-Elson, Peyton Hardesty, Sha-lohm Jamieson, Macky Lambert, Alycia Lipovac, Dhavve Manoharan, Wren McDowell, Charlotte Newman & Charlotte Rabie. 👏👏👏
