I asked myself this exact question before I created SOTA. I didn't want my kids 'blindly' using AI for everything. I also did not want to keep them away from it and hope they would catch up later.

I created SOTA to look at AI through the lens of digital art, design and creativity. That means teaching kids how to use AI as a tool, while developing the skills that make them creative thinkers first!

Teens learn things like:
• How to use AI responsibly
• How to question what AI produces
• Why human creativity still matters
• How to create digital art and design with intention
• How to understand visual communication and design principles
• How to use AI without handing over their thinking to it
• How to think about originality, ownership and ethical use
• How these skills are changing the creative world and the jobs that come with it

As a designer, I don't think the goal should be:
"How do I stop my child using AI?"
I think a better question is:
"How do I teach my child to use AI well?"
That is a very different conversation.

And honestly, I think parents who are asking these questions now are not behind. You are early.

The world of education and employment is changing quickly, and our kids are going to need more than the ability to use the latest AI tool.

They are going to need to think, create, question, communicate and make good decisions. That is what SOTA helps them build.

Not kids who scroll or kids who can "run a basic prompt.
Kids who know what to do with the technology.
