Welcome to Port Lincoln Racing Club, located on the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia .... known for seafood, surf, breathtaking scenery and a love of thoroughbred racing. The Port Lincoln Racing Season runs from October to April annually. The highlight of our racing calendar is the Port Lincoln Cup held in early March, will a host of fabulous Twilight Race Meetings running over the Summer months .... what a way to spend a Friday evening after work! Another feature on the racing calendar is our Twilight New Year's Eve Race Meeting - this year held on December 30th - and is a great way to kick off your New Year's weekend celebrations!

🏇 GOOD SPORTS. GREAT COMMUNITY SPIRIT. $4,000 BACK INTO LOCAL SPORT! 💙

Our Sportsbet Hobby Horse Race at the Sutton’s Cleaning Services Season Launch on 4 October was all about having a bit of fun for a great cause! 🎉

We were proud to give local sporting organisations the opportunity to raise funds for their clubs, with $4,000 going straight back into grassroots sport across our community. 🙌

A huge thank you to the Port Lincoln Football League Umpires, Burra Football Club, Waybacks Cricket Club and Marble Range Football Club for saddling up, getting involved and being such great sports!

It’s initiatives like these that show what community sport is all about — bringing people together, having a laugh and supporting the clubs that make our region so special. 💙

We’re kicking off the 2026–27 racing season on Sunday 4 October and we’re inviting local sporting clubs to join us trackside for the Sportsbet Club Challenge: Hobby Horse Edition.

Yep… hobby horse racing. For actual prize money. 😂🏇

Round up a team of 10, throw on your club colours and four brave representatives will take to the track for the chance to win a share of $4,000 for your club.

Bet you didn't know this, going to the races is free. All you have to do is register first online, that's genuinely the whole barrier. If you don't pre-register, there's an entry fee at the gate. So register ahead, then it's just rock up, grab a spot on the lawn, and see how the day goes.

The Port Lincoln Racing Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Peter Dearman, who passed away on Monday night.

Peter was an integral part of racing on the West Coast for almost four decades and a man who was deeply respected by all who knew him.

His racing journey began at Port Lincoln in 1972 as an assistant judge, before joining the PLRC Stewards Panel in 1976. In 1980, Peter was appointed by Racing SA as District Stipendiary Steward, overseeing race meetings across the Eyre Peninsula.

For more than 36 years, Peter served the racing industry with his trademark fairness, dependability and calm nature. He was a practical man with a wonderful sense of spirit, and someone who cared deeply about racing and the country communities that supported it.

He will be remembered fondly by the countless trainers, jockeys, officials, volunteers and racing families who had the privilege of knowing him.

The Port Lincoln Racing Club extends its deepest condolences to Peter’s family, friends and loved ones.

Peter’s funeral service will be held at Ravendale Park Racecourse on Monday 13 October at 1.00pm.
