After two months of exhibiting my artful wall hangings at West Gippsland Art Centre, 'Off The Beaten Track' has ended and I have collected my works of art and taken them home.

It has been an amazing experience. It was alot of fun tooing and froing meeting up with friends and giving a guided tour with insights into the techniques I used to create each wall hanging.

I am very grateful to West Gippsland Art Centre for this opportunity to exhibit my work. This has been a wonderful, positive experience. I can't wait to express my interest to exhibit next year, 2027.

I have sat back this evening with a cuppa and enjoyed reading through all the lovely comments in the Visitors book I had made. It has made me feel very humble that my creativity spoke to so many people.

How time flies...⏳ with only ONE WEEK of viewing my textile exhibition at West Gippsland Arts Centre in Warragul left. If you haven't had an opportunity to go and see it now is the time.
I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting up with friends at the art centre to give a personalised tour, talking and answering lots of questions.
My visitors book has lots of comments for me to read at the end of the week. What a privilege it has been to have gotten this far as an artist I have already imagined my exhibition here for 2027 should I be given the opportunity to exhibit here again 😊

After a day to take a breath after the opening evening on Tuesday, I have posted a couple of photos. It was quite a personal event. The wall hangings look amazing and very different to the artworks that are usually exhibited, hence the name 'Off The Beaten Track.

It was an honour to give Warragul Mayor Kate Wilson a guided tour of my artwork and to meet other dignitaries. I was proud to have my photo taken and be interviewed by a reporter from The Warragul & Drouin Gazette.
But a nervous moment giving a speech I felt quite emotional.

There may not have been many people there in the physical but I felt the building bursting at the seams with the spirit of those who would like to have been there. Plus those of my ancestors and the universal energies cheering and congratulating me and the other two artists. A great night ❀🌟

Just three weeks to go before the opening evening of my exhibition (I'm not counting really 😜) Tuesday 30th June 5.30 at West Gippsland Arts Centre, Warragul until the 30th August. I'll look forward to seeing you there.

I am very excited to announce the premier opening evening Tuesday 30th June 5.30pm of my textile art exhibition Off The Beaten Track created by Kay Read - Art From Beyond.

Just five weeks to go folks!! before the opening evening at 5.30pm, West Gippsland Arts Centre, Level 3, 1 Civic Place, Warragul.

I have my speech ready 😜 Don't worry it's not too long.

On display are eleven textile eco-printed and painted wall hangings I have handmade on calico and linen depicting nature, animals and flora. Each artwork has a meaning and story to tell.

This exhibition will run for two months from the opening evening of the 30th June until 30th August. So plenty of time to go and view this exhibition. Some works of art will be for sale 😊

There are two other artist exhibitions opening on this evening too, on Levels 2 and 4 of the art centre.

A pleasant day spent painting Mitzi Moo today. Almost 3/4 of her face painted with a layer of colour. You can see how the underpainting gives added depth to the light and dark colours. A lot of work left to do, I will enjoy posting photos as I go πŸ˜ŠπŸ–Œ
