Congratulations to artists, Mary Zouglakis and Lisa Mitchell.
Mary is the Winner of the inaugural Pomona Railway Station Local Emerging Artists Prize with her painting ‘Coffee Time Reflections’ and was presented the $2000 major prize from sponsors Noosa Hinterland Real Estate. Lisa took the Encouragement Award with her piece, Still Seeing/Reflect and was presented $1000 prizemoney provided by Eumundi Rotary/
Judges, Noosa Regional Gallery Director, Michael Brennan and local artist and art educator, Pam Miller, had the difficult decisions to make from 45 pieces submitted and selected from about 100 artists, all living within a 50 km radius of Pomona.
The Emerging Artists Prize was part of the gallery’s 25th anniversary celebrations this year. Local businesses contributed more than $4000 in cash and other prizes for the winners.
The exhibition will remain in the Pomona Railway Station Gallery’s Carriage and Signal Rooms until September 23.
Pomona Railway Station Gallery is a non-for-profit gallery, managed and operated by volunteers. The gallery opens from 10am – 4pm Tuesday to Friday, and 10am to 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
