Guuranda X continues its journey to RISE Festival in Findhorn, where the work will premiere on May 31.

After Chennai, we now bring this evolving model of cultural exchange into a new place, a new landscape and new relationships.

Each place changes the work.
Each place teaches us something new.

One week on

It’s been a week since we premiered GUURANDA x KMMC in Chennai.

Still sitting with everything that unfolded.

This moment stays with us, when audiences, families and children stepped onto the stage and danced Garrdi (emu) alongside the dancers.

A moment of joy, curiosity and connection.

This is what the work hopes for.
Not just to be watched, but to be shared.

Hard to believe it’s already been a week.

Missing the team.
Missing the people.

Guuranda X comes together with KMMC for a live performance of Narungga song, dance, choir and storytelling — shared across Countries.

The stream will be available for 48 hours, so you can watch in your own time or gather your people and hold a watch party.

In the quiet rhythm of needle and thread, another layer of Guuranda X is coming to life.

Inside the workshop at Atulya Tailors here in Chennai, fabric moves through many hands, each one carrying knowledge, precision and pride. Working alongside our brilliant set and costume designer Kath Sproul, the team are transforming ideas into garments that hold story, movement and place.

This is what Guuranda X is made of.

Day 3 · Creative development

Every day brings something new.

Today we introduced Gadli (dingo) to the room for the first time, the puppet beginning to find its movement and personality alongside the dancers.

We also welcomed Chinmoyee, joining the team and stepping straight into the process.

The room was full of stories, music and problem-solving too, including an unexpected challenge when Garrdi (emu) needed urgent repairs. Part of making new work is learning how to adapt, fix and keep moving.

Somewhere in the middle of it all, we paused to celebrate Aman’s birthday with the choir and team.

A full day.

We finished the evening the way Nungas often do, down at the ocean, saltwater, letting the day wash off before tomorrow begins.
