We leave Findhorn today, with hearts full.

A huge thank you to Sing Moray Choir, led by the incredible Magdalena Wellenger and Shaun Brown, for embracing the challenge of learning and performing the Narungga songs of Guuranda.

What moved us most was the responsibility they felt to get it right, out of a genuine respect for the people, Country and language these stories come from

To stand together and hear Narungga language carried by voices from the north of Scotland has been something truly special. A reminder that culture is strongest when it is shared with integrity, generosity and love.

Today we leave feeling proud, grateful and thrilled to know that our stories and our language will continue to be sung here too.

Ngayi yunggu, Sing Moray. Thank you for walking this journey with us. ❤️

What a journey.

This weekend, Guuranda x Rise came to life in Findhorn, Scotland. While the Scottish weather had other plans and forced us indoors at the last minute, the spirit of the work never wavered.

Audiences still began their journey through the forest, guided by our remarkable community collaborators Lynda Buchan, Lorna Steele and Jonathan Caddy. Through stories of this place, they shared histories of connection, colonisation, language, memory and cultural revival. Stories that echoed our own experiences across the world. Different lands, different peoples, yet so many shared truths. Stories often untold.

To our extraordinary performers: the dancers, puppeteers, the incredible Sing Moray Choir, and the brilliant David Martin whose bodhrán carried the pulse of Scotland through the work, thank you. Every rehearsal, every conversation, every song and every act of generosity was woven into these performances. You brought immense heart, courage and spirit to this process and to each other.

What began as a collaboration has become something much deeper. We leave Scotland with new friendships, new understandings and new family.

Receiving a standing ovation and inviting the audience to join us in singing Nhagura, the Whale Song, was a truly beautiful way to conclude this chapter of the journey.

From Narungga Country to Findhorn, thank you for welcoming us, walking with us, and sharing your stories.

The family’s all here now.

Aunty Ninni, Karra and KC have finally landed on Scottish soil, carrying stories, songs and Narungga spirit with them.

Months of dreaming, planning, Zoom calls, puppet packing, music sharing and community weaving have led us here. Now the circle is complete and the real work begins.

Tomorrow rehearsals begin.
New friendships begin.
New stories begin.

Now Guuranda begins 🖤💛❤️

One of the most beautiful parts of Guuranda X is the gathering of people, stories and knowledge holders from different corners of the world.

Today we officially welcomed our incredible community collaborators into the process for our first face-to-face gathering in Findhorn:

Lynda Buchan, textile artist and Doric language speaker. Lorna Steele, storyteller and archivist from the Highland Archives. Jonathon Caddy, storyteller and son of the founders of the original Findhorn Community

We were deeply honoured to spend the morning with Jonathon as he guided us through Findhorn, sharing stories, memories and histories held within the landscape. Every path, dune, hall and shoreline seemed to carry another layer of memory, reminding us that story lives in Country, in community, and in the people who continue to carry it forward.

This exchange between Narungga and Scottish stories is already unfolding in ways we could never have imagined.

✈️ Garrdi and Gadli are flying again.

This time, the journey carries us to Findhorn, Scotland for Guuranda x RISE Festival.

Artistic Director Jacob Boehme is arriving ahead of the team, travelling with Garrdi and Gadli to begin preparing for the next stage of this extraordinary cultural exchange.

Over the coming weeks, Guuranda will come to life alongside community collaborators from across Scotland. Choirs, dancers, young people, artists and cultural knowledge holders will gather to share stories, movement, language and song beside the dunes and ancient landscapes of Findhorn.

What began on Narungga Country now continues across oceans.

From red earth to northern sands, the footprints keep moving.

Guuranda X continues its journey to RISE Festival in Findhorn, where the work will premiere on May 31.

After Chennai, we now bring this evolving model of cultural exchange into a new place, a new landscape and new relationships.

Each place changes the work.
Each place teaches us something new.
