Meet Eddie, the usually chill anglerfish who spends his days lurking under the Edithburgh jetty. Eddie’s been screaming lately - and not in the cute, “I saw a squid” kind of way. Eddie channels the iconic anguish of Munch’s "The Scream", except this time the existential crisis is happening underwater, where the harmful algae bloom has turned his peaceful home into a neon‑green nightmare. His little lure flickers like a warning sign, his fins flap in dramatic despair, and his wide anglerfish eyes capture that perfect blend of What is happening to my ecosystem and I did NOT sign up for this.

YOU, ME & UNDER THE SEA opens this Saturday, 1 August, at Faversham House, Edithburgh, SA! Featuring the vibrant artworks of Elizabeth Solich and the stunning underwater photography of Paul Macdonald, this SALA exhibition explores the beauty and fragility of our marine world.

Exhibition dates: 1–23 August 2026
Fridays: 10am–2pm

The Quiltmakers (2026)

To tackle pollution head‑on and put all that waste to good use, three very determined octopus teamed up and decided they’d teach themselves the ancient art of quilt‑making. They stitched and stitched, ironed and patched, wrangled stray bits of rubbish with all eight arms each, and slowly transformed the unwanted into something wonderfully unique. Soon they’ll be able to tuck themselves in and keep warm - because even under the sea, winter is coming. # plasticpollution ̇loncanvas
