‘P O R C H L I G H T’
A Live & True Storytelling Event
‘Porchlight’ is a live and true story telling event held in ‘New Hall’, home of The Point Lonsdale Lighthouse Arts Collective, on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria.
The idea is to bring community together to share in the tales that make us, us. There’s a theme, 5 storytellers telling true tales from their lives, and an audience; snug as bugs, settled in with a warm thermos in hand for an hour and a half of aural soul food.
“SHIFTING SANDS” is the theme of our first storytelling session out of the last years cocoon.
Like sands through the hourglass; the earth’s shift or earthquake, slip and slide. Did everything change? You were changed. Growth. Relationships, when it broke, or healed. Did you lose your balance? And found it when you took that step sideways? That moment you put your faith in the long awaited plan? Been wedged on a sand bank? Or stuck your head in the sand? Aging. Dying. Grief. Metaporphis. Sand bags, piles of sandbags…. or perhaps its building your sandcastles in the sky,
What is ‘SHIFTING SANDS’ for you, what story might you tell?
A Beginning, middle and end in 8-10 minutes (preferably w no notes)
