Tomorrow is the Queensberry Cup and I hope you’re all ready!!
This is legitimately one of my favourite events of the year, simply to celebrate the community of North and West Melbourne.
I’ve been finessing my MC notes for the Dog Show, celebrity race and for the first time Fashion on the Track.

Get your best outfit ready for the chance to win some prizes!! Head to the website to sign up if you think you can win a crowd with a fabulous get up!!

Then for the dog show, local pet store The Paw Principality and Lord Smith animal Hospital have offered some lovely prizes for:
Best trick
Best Outfit
Best Owner/dog lookalike
Best drool (I take this as a unique trait or wow factor).

As for the fashion comp:
I have a special guest judge, and the winner will get voucher for local florist Casa Verde

I love a custom or unique piece, whether it’s clothing or art or furniture.
I’ve been privileged to be able to commission, save or collect a few items over the years, sometimes it’s for a show/performance, sometimes it’s a gift to myself, and then sometimes - like these fu***ng boots here - sometimes you work with an artist, who is just so incredible at what they do, how they hold themselves in this world, you just have to find a way to own a piece of their work.

I had the pleasure of working with Haider Ali Truck Artist last year (see post about that project in my feed - it was incredible). When I discovered he painted shoes I immediately asked how I could get some; “bring me some shoes and I will paint them for you”
I didn’t immediately reach for these US made Leather cowboy boots I’d found in an Op shop in Estonia - but my first choice involves a story I won’t get into here (IFYKTYK). Then after a few weeks of thumb twiddling I commited and sent these boots over to Haiders workshop in Pakistan.

It wasn’t long before he contacted me to say they were ready and sent me a sneak preview.

But when I unpacked them I was gobsmacked.
The detail and the colours 😍
I couldn’t decide if I should never take them off, or put them behind glass.

It’s taken me a little while to post this - sorry Haider - only because I wanted to do these incredible boots justice.
So when Flowpyre beings her camera to town, and the spring sunshine is beaming, well what better time than now.

1/3 - I finished 2025 broken.
Mentally and physically.
I’ve never experienced that consistent level of pain and depression at the same time.
2026 has been good. I found the right support, I changed some things, Ive worked my fu***ng arse off.

My summer is finally done - It’s almost May.
I did some cool s**t this summer. Worked with a lot of great humans. But I’m happy it’s done.
Huge projects, huge wins, huge lessons.

And I’ll probably do a lot of it again next year. Hopefully with less pain and a clearer head.

I’m sure I’ve actually seen this before… but it really landed on me today…
It’s just bloody smart. Lift up the display, grab the new unit off the shelf.
The person who thought of this better have been given then afternoon off and not have to pay for a sausage for at least a year.

Yo! I found this good
It’s called a holiday, or a break. It’s real good for your brain and body! Totally worth not working yourself ragged to try it out.
Also take someone you fu***ng with you and it’ll be even better!
