We are thrilled to share that we've formalised a new partnership with Edith Cowan University. ✨

A significant milestone for the organisation, the agreement reflects a shared commitment between ECU’s School of Education and Ausdance WA to foster collaboration in research, professional learning, sector engagement and knowledge exchange, while creating new pathways to support the future dance workforce in WA.

Special shout out to our Chair, Gary Hodge, and board member, Dr Maria Gamble, for their work in this space. 👏

💫 Introducing our PD Guests: Tyrone Earl Lraé Robinson 💫

Tyrone Earl Lraé Robinson is an award-winning Perth-based dancer, choreographer, teacher, mentor, curator, and dramaturg, working across contemporary dance and physical theatre. Practising professionally since 2010, Tyrone has collaborated with independent artists and companies both nationally and internationally.

In 2021, Tyrone co-founded OFF-base Dance alongside long-time collaborator Shuling Wong. 💫 Introducing our PD Guests: Candice D'Adamo 💫

Candice D’Adamo is a passionate dance educator and specialist with over 16 years of teaching experience.

Candice is the Co-Director of The Brothahood - a Boys Dance Education Program developed to address a clear gap in dance opportunities for boys in Perth and the wider dance community. The program focuses on co-curricular boys’ dance experiences, while also extending into curriculum-based primary dance programs designed for co-educational classes. She is deeply committed to creating high-energy, inclusive learning environments where all students can thrive, particularly those who learn differently.

Candice will lead our first workshop at the Beyond Boundaries: Teaching Secondary Dance PD. The workshop is designed to engage boys in the dance curriculum, however her teachings can be adapted for all students who lack motivation and will add to teachers’ strategies for engaging their class.
