The Model Speaks

The Model Speaks Never drawn a human body before? Can't draw stick figures? Don't know which end of the pencil to use? ;-)
This is the perfect class for you. Minimum of 4 people.

Join one of our sessions or organise for us to come to your party. All you have to do is turn up (and maybe do what you're told ;-) )
Drawing the female body for absolute beginners. We'll run through a series of weird and wonderful exercises and make you think and draw like you didn't think you could. What makes this class different to all the other n**e drawing classes? The model will be facilita

ting the event - which keeps the price down and also means you get to hear all their stories and ask them questions about being n**e in public. (Can't you just get a desk job?)

All materials provided. Event can be held at your place (with a discount for the hostess) or at a venue.

Tonight – Quiz Master at Naut bar in Bibra Lake 6:30pm start, free to play, book a table (the space is gorgeous but small)

Tomorrow (Fri) – working the bar at The Laneway Art Space for the opening night of Polar Opposites - opening night for the Antarctica: Polar Opposites exhibition and series of talks and events. Free event tonight! And most of the talks and things for the next 7 days are free there as well! If you like penguins, icebergs, and speaking to scientists about climate change and careers then this is for you!

Saturday – modelling at Infinite Arts Studio in Wangara – draped session Crazy Costume-Life Drawing with Jane! with a bunch of my wardrobe coming along for the ride! Bookings essential.

Sunday – market stall at the Preston Beach Golf Club Annual Fete - – my wardrobe overflow is making a run for it all day at this event. Outdoors, licensed, bouncy castle. What could possibly go wrong? 😉

(I.e. I've already made a last minute scramble to Curtin with Tori Benz because i forgot I was modelling today - eeeek! Im considering that a "pre-disastering).

What are you doing on Friday?
Feel like doing something a bit different than just having beverages, snacks and chats?
Well I'm doing a beginners life drawing session in Freo this Friday evenings! 7pm start, everything provided - yep, even the beverages, snacks and chats!
All the art supplies, tuition, oddball humour, fun, and seriousness you could possibly ask for on a Friday night. Not too much, not too little.

A smart-arse n**e woman talking at you. Sounds a lot like a Fringe show x TED talk but with a life drawing lesson.

What could possibly go wrong? (don't answer that)

I'm on again at my favourite little underground whisky bar in Perth, Goody Two's!
Session starts at 4pm, for 2 hours of scribbles and giggles and bottomless bubbles. Perfect start to a night out, particularly if you don't want a late one! Start at Goody's, stay for another drinky-poo after the session and then head off for a om-nom-nom somewhere.

Tickles both sides of my brain that way!

I love a drawing that doesn't look like a photo, that makes you think about what you're looking at, that gives the view a chance to consider the image and find their own way with it.

Feels like a home-cooked meal rather than a frozen meal.
(I'm surprised I related art to savoury food and not cupcakes, probably because it's winter and need some warming up!)

I've seen some VERY ORGANISED people doing some serious adult stuff and planning gatherings for the October-November party season already. I know?!!! I need to take some lessons on adulting from them.

But if I've now got you thinking about that as well, then have a thinking a life drawing session. Model can either be draped or undraped, I can come to you - and I'll travel a FAAAAAAIIIIIR way for a session. (I've even been up to Newman for a session!)
I bring all the stuff so you just need to bring the people and the place. Easy peasy! Give me a yodel if you want some more deets.

What a beautiful hens party this was!
Even though I'm a Nancy Nude-alot I also LOVE a wardrobe directive.
Erin's glamorous and gorgeous Tutti Frutti party was a delight to the eyeballs, and then we sprinkled some Model Speaks magic on the top.
Held at Pia Gaze Studio in North Perth no one let a blank canvas freak them out.
It helps when I'm telling you what to do and herding all the cats :)

Our Story

The Model Speaks encourages creativity and body positivity.

When we talk about Body Positivity over here at TMS, we're not talking about fitspo images of gym taut bodies and not talking about large people happy to wear bkinis in public (though we absolutely approve of this - every body is a bikini / mankini body :-).

We're mainly focused on celebrating our bodies for the amazing vehicles that get us through life on a day-to-day basis. We all put them through hell - we don't feed them or rest them right, we exercise too much or too little, give them too much sun, not enough water, stress them absolutely out. Yet still they cart us around. Sometimes the wheels fall off and we get ill but it's amazing how much they can cope with. Bloody hell, we all treat our cars better than our bodies!

We also focus on "n**e is not rude". Everyone has a body, but the only time we seem to see nudity in public is in an erotic sense. The Model Speaks is trying to bring "non-sexy" back :-) (Oi! Move over JT!).
