i see lots of people looking at this page. it was 8 years ago or more i was doing this and there was only one creative that understood and did it. i flew to hangzhou and met a great guy 'roy' who had his small business just like anywhere else in the world and was doing some fabulous direct digital printing. you will all say why did you go to china and not do it in aust. and the reason being that the prices where too high in aust and i had been working with a company for two years in melb and they found it so difficult to keep doing the work and so i looked to china. i google direction digital printing and found roy in hanghouz. so i went there. imagine this surprise when an australian turned up at his doorstep not via australian business associations or embassies. i realised eventually that no one in western australian was going to 'get it' or even 'try it' except for steve smith. a legend. as you can see on the other photos of this page i used the method successfully in a back drop and costume pieces. organising this to be printed all in one bolt of fabric. so its all over anyway but i am going to keep this page alive in the hope that it will have a value for the idea one day and in thanks to steve , damon and talei and roy in china who no longer answers my email of 'how are you doing'
