We are delighted to share that Alkan – The Complete Organ Works, Volume One, released by Signum Classics, has been named one of the three best recordings of 2026 by internationally acclaimed arts critic Norman Lebrecht in South Korea’s Auditorium magazine.

The Alkan recording is recognised alongside the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra (Deutsche Grammophon) and Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra (Ondine).

A wonderful achievement and a proud moment for St George’s Cathedral, celebrating the exceptional musical talent and artistry associated with our Cathedral.

What an unforgettable evening!

Last night’s Grand Organ Concert was truly spectacular. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the debut performance of rising Australian organist Marko Sever and what a performance it was.

Marko showcased the extraordinary character and power of the Cathedral’s Grand West Organ, taking the audience on a musical journey from moments of impressive grandeur to delicate, contemplative beauty.

It was a privilege to witness such an outstanding young talent perform within the remarkable musical and architectural setting of St George’s Cathedral.
