Viewing the work of others is a great way to pause and reflect.
We spent an afternoon at Cottesloe Beach Sculpture by the sea exhibition.
So much great artwork on show. I'd recommend grabbing a guide from the shop to see a map and all the artists' statements.
The way the landscapes and people interact with Sculpture is part of what makes them so great. Everyone brings their own interpretation.
As it is international women's day I must say my favourite is Ruby by Alessandra Rossi.

Taking time to settle into our new life in Perth. So much has changed and missingfamilyand friends is becoming very real. It is important to take time to pause and keep reminding ourselves why we made the move.
Trying to embrace life and make the most of all Perth has to offer. Excited about upcoming opportunities. πŸ™β˜ΊοΈ

The big move to Australia has happened πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜€πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ίβ›±οΈπŸ¦•

We have been busy settling in, finding a house, a new job teaching Art in a school, lots of parks and beaches. Family time and a certain someone's 3rd birthday πŸŽ‚ πŸ₯³

Today I found some selfcare time using polymer clay to make some magnets for my new fridge... when we get one. πŸ˜†

Abstract painting, exploring colour, shape, and pattern.
The freedom to create without trying to make look a certain way is great.
I love how different these pieces are.

Feeling too overwhelmed to write in a journal?
Draw your thoughts.

This is a page from my journal. It's my to-do list and all the other stuff I don't really understand drawn out. I then added some works I wrote down earlier on a blank page.

Needless to say I've not been posting for a while. I've been busy doing other things πŸ˜†

Taught my first paint and sip party back in November.
I was privileged enough to travel to Australia to celebrate my sister's wedding. We had great fun painting and enjoying the cocktails on her hen.
Had to stick to just one until my part was done πŸ˜†

Happy half term holiday... if only this was a real view πŸ˜†
A quick painting practice for a party I'm doing in a few weeks. It's not quite finished, as I ran out of white paint. I'm still happy with it though.

Creating art about a peaceful or happy place can bring joy to those mundane moments ✨️

What is your happy place?
What do you do that brings you joy?

The BIG Draw event I organised at work was so much fun. Bringing together pupils, parents, and staff to collaborate, express themselves, and celebrate drawing.
This year's theme was
We did some large-scale drawings inspired by a street dance performance our pupils did. We used chalk and charcoal to draw on the walls and floor. Thinking about the movement and feelings of dance. There was also a group in the quiet room, drawing pieces inspired by artists who depict dance. Such as Degas and Keith Haring.

Thank you to everyone who got involved.
Are you taking part in
What do you like drawing?
