Karlkurla Bushland Park won the Public Playspaces ($500K to $1M) category at the 2025 Kidsafe National Playspace Design Awards.

Developed for the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Urban Landcare Group in partnership with the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, the space includes a zipline, a large climbing tower with slide, shaded picnic areas and open lawn, all set inside Karlkurla's 200 hectares of natural bushland.

More than 570 kilometres from our office, it was one of the more complex regional deliveries on our books.

WA is in the middle of a $2B investment in housing and regional growth. That's a lot of new neighbourhoods being built.

But a neighbourhood isn't really a community until there's somewhere to gather. Somewhere kids go after school. Somewhere people feel like they belong.

That's what we design for at Lynka. Spaces that reflect local history, local culture and the people who'll actually use them every day. From initial design through to long-term maintenance, we handle the full scope so councils and developers don't have to piece it together themselves.

What a cool little build in Popanyinning for the Shire Of Cuballing. Fun farm animals for the little kiddies and elevated play for the bigger kiddes. A good fun mix for all. Turning otherwise unused and wasted space into a great little community hub. The community vibe is always high when we go to these awesome little hidden gems.

This nature-based play space for the Shire of Wanneroo was built around one idea: that every kid and every family should be able to use it comfortably, regardless of ability.

The space includes a large activity fort with climbing ramp and net, spiral tube slide, double wave slide and fireman's pole, alongside a birds nest swing, climbing logs, mud kitchens and a sandpit. Rubber softfall and concrete pathways provide wheelchair access to key play elements, and shaded accessible picnic settings give carers and families somewhere to actually sit and stay.

Built to NDIS-aligned principles, Kidsafe and WALGA standards, Camira Park is now a space that works for the whole community, not just some of it.

Lynka worked with Keiki through design consultation and construction to deliver four distinct play zones, each responding to a different stage of development. From the Babies Zone timber gazebo and activity fort, through to the Kindy Zone's Caravan Cafe-themed shopfront, monkey bars and water play, every area was built with its users in mind.
