"Is that it? is it time to go home already?"

Here we are at the end of an era after a very eventful, rewarding and what seems now a very brief eleven years , its time to move on.....

Sounds Suite has at last received the final curtain call. We've bumped out the gear, switched off the lights and dragged ourselves off home to bed, at last...

Big LOVE, RESPECT AND THANK YOU to everyone who supported Sounds Suite, and a big "Your Loss!" to those who chose not to.

I am keeping this page alive for a while as I would love to hear from anyone about their sounds suite experience and invite you all to post stories and pictures here about everything and anything related to the Suite.

"Good morning ! Opening up the roller door this morning to see what the day had to offer, I was almost knocked off my feet by the sudden burst of sunshine that came flooding in. The little red drum kit suddenly sprang to life, sparkling and shining sending light dancing in all directions, eminating a new sense that the whole place had now become decidedly happier.. And the only reason that little red drumkit was out was that I was just about to give up on her, sell her off . Amazing what new light can bring to a situation, i forgot how much lil red meant to me, and how much joy she brings ; and she was right here the whole time., time to spoil her with a good polish and reskin ...
Looks like its going to be a "Pearler" of a day " ha ha.....ha....hmmmm :-)

SOUNDS SUITE UPDATE

It looks like there's been yet another change in the developments here at the 'suite , but don't panic, its all good change :-) . So just to let you all know , we are back in business and rehearsal rooms are available as of immediately, and of course I'm taking bookings for recordings, hire department, events etc. We are officially back up on our feet and marching forward with a new spring in our step. There will still be some minor renovations and small changes happening over the next few weeks, but nothing your not used to when coming to Sounds Suite. Calling all our usual regulars , and future ones too of course, come on down to Sounds Suite, or give me a call to book your favourite room and preferred night before someone else dibs it !!

"PRACTICE ON STAGE"
Outdoor Stage and courtyard area now available to hire for rehearsal sessions!
Spring is almost upon us and the weather is gradually becoming a little more clement in the evenings, perfect for a bit of outdoor live music at the 'Suite. To make the most of this turn to towards more active evenings, we have decided to make the stage and courtyard area at Sounds Suite available to hire during any of the usual rehearsal times. good idea if your band has a gig coming up and have not had much stage time to work out your act,( or even just to get used to the difference of rehearsing in a room all looking at each other verses on stage all facing the front). Stage comes fully equipped with 1000+watts of sound power provided by our Full 3 way "Sound Suite Sound System" PA including foldback and recording capabilities, throw in some stage lighting, and why not bring some "rent a crowd" friends down too, and even fire up the bbq and make a real evening of it!! call 0438380738 and make your next rehearsal an event!

SOUNDS SUITE DOES A "JOHNNY FARNHAM"

Well it appears that tales of our demise have been greatly over exaggerated!
you may recall that I made a little statement here a couple of weeks back, claiming imminent doom and final days of Sounds Suite with closing down sales, Swan songs, final shows and the like, yeah? Well......

WE'RE BAAACK!! :-)

Back by popular demand we have been forced back into the ring to take another swing! Thanks to a concerned and motivated "but yet to be official so i cant name them here" member of the 'Suite community. There has been a much needed new lease of life and fresh energy, as well as the all important funds, injected back into the studio with some new attitudes and ideas soon to be unleashed. If all goes as per the current plan, there will be a slow and steady gradual hand over and you should see changes start to occur over the next few months as the old guard progressively steps aside for the young guns and a new chapter begins!

Although changes are planned, and are essential, the new vision is inherently dependent on retaining the soul and vibe that made Sounds Suite what it is and so appealing to those who "got it". This is something not lost on the successors and something that everyone is eager to preserve.
I must also reaffirm at this point that even after the changeover I will still continue operating as a Sound Engineer / Producer although now i will now have a few different studio location possibilities to choose from which will of course include this ol' Suite too.

So now more than ever we really need your support. I need to get some bands back in these rooms, and some music back into the soul of the joynt. Its still going to take an effort, and there's lots to be done. So if there is anything that we may be able to help you with, recordings, rehearsals, equipment hire, etc, etc, all things musical and/or loud, please don't hesitate to get in touch and I'm sure we can work out whats best for your music and for Sounds Suites' future.

STUFF IT! LETS STICK IT TO THE MAN !!
managed to get a few more weeks to keep the doors open and tie up loose ends around the studio,,,,, so i think the only sensible thing to do is to take advantage of that and....

HAVE A F@ #%KIN' PARTY!!!

Although likely to be a bit more low key and of a smaller scale casual kinda gig than originally planned for tonight, but due to popular request we are still going to go ahead with a few bands anyway! and if we are going to do that we may as well get some DJ's to do their thing as well!! so its bands on from about 6 ish till midnight and djs from midnight till "whenever the hell we feel like stopping"

HA! well thats tyipcal,,, "554 post reach" biggest reach yet and its for the news of closing the studio..could have done with this kinda publicity a while ago ;-)
Thanks for all the kind words and support etc etc, nice to see we managed to touch alot of good people, but remember that its not really and end, its now a time to go do bigger and better stuff, Sounds Suite had her time and place and will be remembered for years to come. But i wont ever stop recording sounds or making noise and loving music and and I will continue working and operating as an audio engineer, and we will all keep on playing music and throwing partys, its not really a choice, this is what we do, but it needs to grow, to change and progress, and just like a good tune, a well timed change of key and/or tempo, can spark new energy and direction, grab your attention, move you to a new rhythm and force you to refocus and get on with the new journey ahead....

Guess whos back in town!!!?? BeerFridge are back in the 'Suite again this weekend for all the usual thrashing and shinnanigans,,, Its been a while coming but tracking is almost complete and then its off to Dr Al Smith @ Bergerk Studios for the mix... so far the general conscensus is " yeah, sounds Sick!"
