Look who's new in the Zoo! 👀

A new pair of Tasmanian Devils are settling in behind-the-scenes in our vet department, and clearly delighting the vet nurses caring for them 🤭

In the coming weeks, Olivia and Megara will be moving into the Australia Bushwalk. Stay tuned for more!

Only the very best care for this special older lady 🧡🦧

Take a behind-the-scenes look at Sumatran Orangutan Puteri's recent health check.

At 55-years-old, Puti is well into her twilight years. Check-ups like this help us stay on top of her health to ensure she's getting exactly what she needs!

After her check-up, she rested in a nice warm bed with snacks and even some warm fruit tea.

Thank you SO much to our animal carers, vet team and all of the incredible health professionals who look after her 🧡

A special thanks to Animalius Vet radiologist Dr Belinda Hopper, vet cardiologist Dr Rita Singh and Phillips Healthcare.

Sing it, Swannie! 😍
To celebrate , we're sharing some super simple things you can do everyday to support the planet.

🌿 Dispose of all your rubbish properly, that way it won't end up in local waterways and wetlands.

🌿 When walking in nature, keep your dogs on a leash to ensure they don't accidentally trample plants, substrate or nests.

🌿 Be water-wise by taking shorter showers and fixing leaky taps - every drop makes a difference!

If we all take little actions, together we can make a big impact 💪

RAJA APPRECIATION POST 😍
Our Komodo Dragon is proof that reptiles have plenty of charm!

Here are some crazy facts you may not know about his species:

➡ They have an excellent sense of smell and can track meat up to 4km away!

➡ Females can reproduce and make a baby dragon all on their own through a process called parthenogenesis.

➡They have 60 serrated teeth. These sharp chompers latch onto prey and release a venom that induces shock, making it very difficult to get away.

➡Komodo Dragons have BIG appetites and can eat up to 80 percent of their bodyweight in a single meal!
