Welcome to the world, little swampie 🥹

This adorable little Western Swamp Turtle is one of many hatched this season through our collaborative breeding program.

Every year, our incredible science staff work tirelessly behind-the-scenes, breeding and caring for these turtles in the hopes of releasing them into the wild to bolster populations 💪

Another year of being golden, happy 47th birthday Utama 🧡
As one of our oldest Sumatran Orangutans, Utama holds a very special place in our hearts!

Here's just a few reasons our keepers love caring for her:

😋 She's cheeky and curious and loves to watch keepers do food prep!

🖐️ She's very tactile! And loves squishy toys or items she can play with.

👣 She has been known to tap her feet up and down when she's in a good mood - her carers call this 'happy feet'

💚 She'll take a while to get to know you, but once she does it's totally worth it!
