What a beautiful morning at Bunnings! ✨

We only had two hours to start and complete) We had a free coffee and nibbles too✅
I feel so grateful and privileged to have hosted a free community art class today — our “One of a Kind” workshop, where we painted stunning magpies on canvas using acrylics.
Everyone brought their own creativity to life — choosing between two bird options, exploring their own background colours, and truly making each piece unique. And they really were… one of a kind. 🖤🎨
We even had a whole family join, including the sweetest little “Picasso boy” who absolutely stole the show with his creativity!
A huge thank you to Julie, the amazing DIY facilitator at Bunnings — truly one of a kind. Your support and energy made this session so special. 💛

I’m so proud of everyone — you all did an incredible job!

I already can’t wait for the next one… although this one is officially SOLD OUT.
Watch this space — more beautiful workshops are coming soon. And join Bunnings website, in DIY section for future events! 🥳

What a wonderful time we had together today!🥳🥳
Today in our Friday Expressive Arts session we continued exploring how the brain works and how we can refresh, rewire, and transform our thinking patterns. One of the most exciting things is that our brain is flexible and constantly changing. Thanks to neuroplasticity, it can form new connections and new patterns of thinking throughout our lives .This means we can consciously create new connections and new ways of thinking.
We continued learning about Neurographica and how creative processes can help us access new perspectives and inner resources.
For our warm-up exercise today, we matched words with images, and as always it was fascinating to see how each image spoke differently to each person in the room. Every interpretation was unique — and every story meaningful.
If you haven’t tried our Friday Expressive Arts sessions yet, you are still very welcome to join us next time.
Come explore creativity, the mind, and yourself in a supportive space.🌺

Today we had our very first art lesson of the year — and what a beautiful start it was!🥳

Our theme was inspired by Vincent van Gogh, 🌼and every single participant was a beginner. For some families, it became a special creative day spent together — not in front of screens, but side by side with brushes and color.
Passers-by stopped to watch, admiring the artworks and whispering that it looked like we had been painting for years. No one could believe it was their first time!
For three hours straight, we were so deeply immersed in the process that no one even wanted to pause for tea or coffee. That’s when you know something magical is happening.
We started with a blank white canvas — and finished with unique, expressive paintings full of movement and personality. Along the way, everyone gained:
• new skills
• new creative confidence
• new connections and friendships
• and the joyful realization: “I can paint beautifully too!”

It was more than just an art lesson.
It was inspiration, courage, and creativity coming alive together.

Such a powerful beginning to the year — and we’re only just getting started. 🎨✨

It’s on! Community Art Award Exhibition 2025 is open for public now. Come and view plenty of original art works at City of Wanneroo library. And don’t forget to vote for me!🥳🥰
About my art work:

“Feeling Blue” is a reflection of both my personal journey and the emotions of those I support. Painted with leftover blue and green acrylic on A4 paper, all three portraits came to life intuitively, from my imagination, guided by emotion rather than structure. I used minimum of brushstrokes, that emerged from a space of deep empathy and lived experience.
I have personally struggled with depression, anxiety and trauma . Art became a lifeline during my darkest moments—a place where I could express what I couldn’t say out loud. Creating gave me permission to feel, to heal, and to begin again.
Now working in the mental health and disability sector, I support individuals living with complex challenges. Through my art, I channel not only my own emotions but also the silent pain, resilience, and hope of those around me. “Feeling Blue” embodies that shared experience—the sadness, numbness, and isolation that often go unseen.
This painting is my way of saying: I see you. I’ve been there. You’re not alone. Whether through art or connection, healing is possible—and sometimes just knowing someone understands can light the way forward.
