⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from Limelight

It’s hard to pick just one highlight from Rita Clarke’s review, but we think this part sums up exactly what we’re feeling:

“Topp’s choreography is a wonderful assault on the senses; Dashwood [as Macbeth] and Alexa Tuzil as Lady Macbeth are outstanding, and this opening night was one of those rare evenings in a theatrical venue when, from the very start, you find yourself sitting forward in surprise and delight, sensing something magical is going to evolve.”

It was indeed magical.

Well, that’s a pretty big call…

“THE BEST BALLET I HAVE EVER SEEN.”

Fresh out of the Opening Night performance of Macbeth, we asked audiences what they thought of the show. If you’ve seen it, let us know what you loved most!

The first review is in!

“Intense and electrifying.”
⭐⭐⭐⭐½ - The West Australian

Macbeth opened last night at His Majesty's Theatre, Perth and it’s dark, gripping, a little bit wild, and absolutely not your traditional night at the ballet.

Now playing until 19 September with West Australian Symphony Orchestra

WA Ballet’s Macbeth is an arresting and darkly dynamic delve into Shakespeare’s timeless tale, taking the crown to theatrically bewitch new audiences and longtime ballet lovers alike.

We had the honour of performing at Government House Western Australia Benefit Ball earlier this month, hosted by our Patrons, His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson AC APM and Mrs Darrilyn Dawson.

Inspired by this year’s theme Red Dirt to Red Carpet, Leading Artist Jack Whiter created two new works celebrating what makes our great state so special, performed to original compositions by The Western Australian Jazz Project.

It’s always a pleasure to share the stage with our friends in the WA arts community, including West Australian Opera and The Western Australian Jazz Project, especially for such a worthy cause. Funds raised from the evening supported four Western Australian organisations, Stronger Families, DV Assist, Moort Boodjari Mia and St John WA.
