A whole new wave of depth, soul and magic came flooding through the Spider this week in Perth, Australia.
We first met Barry from the Nuyngar people when he visited us at Glastonbury. The connection was instant and we started shaping a moment together - a joining of cultures through two spiders, two worlds, and one shared instinct. It was never going to be enough for them to perform the dance of the sacred spider, the Yallorr Keeninyarra on the Arcadia spider alone - it had to go further – they had to become one.
And as the basslines rolled under ancient incantations, we all came together to touch the sky in an eruption of energy - of unity and of timeless electricity.
Thousands danced to a primal flame, towering skyscrapers ran hot with reflected energy, hundreds of children channeled their creativity on community days before coming to see the show, and we’re stood here on Monday trying to take it all in – blown away by how many different threads came together, how many seeds were sown and the sheer spectrum of possibilities ahead as the journey continues.
