Visual Diary Distant Learning (Cross Curriculum Program for Primary and Higher Education aged groups)

Visual Diary of Knowledge has been running since 2017 (includes a cross curriculum visual activity e.g. History, Geography, Literature, Philosophy, Graphic Design, Mathematical Dictionary, Additional Language, Drawing, Painting etc. etc.) is a program for anyone who wishes to learn through creative, alternative way using artistic abilities such as drawing, creative writing, colour and creativity in general. This program runs weekly throughout the year and includes one to two topics per week (depending on the topic and what it entails). Kids are presented with explanation, helping sheet (which is usually hand drawn and with a handwritten fact/s about the topic) this helping sheet encourages the children to write and read script and generally use the old fashioned way of documenting facts in a Visual Diary. The kids need to read the information at least two times, once to themselves and ones to anyone who is willing to listen. Depending on ability, desire and age kids can use the helping sheet in any way they wish. They can cut and paste parts of it and draw/write the rest or create their poster (A3 usually size) totally from scratch. I have included many different posters as examples. Kids are also encouraged to post their work in the group for everyone to see. This encourages other kids and also helps them take pride in their work. For each of the topics I include links to additional material in the form of videos or fact sheets. Cost of the program is very low $52 ($100 before COVID-19) a year per family (can start at any time throughout the year). Link https://www.facebook.com/groups/1414015422011780/

Similar program which You may be interested in: DISTANT ART (Family friendly art program for any age)

This program has been running since 2017, it is relatively new and I am working on it to improve it so it suits all home educating families and beyond, in a best possible way. In short: Each week (usually Sunday) I post a project (tutorial or sequence of photos) of a different kind. Projects include Fine Art with different mediums or in combination with craft e.g. collage etc. Explanations are included plus list with materials. Everyone in the family is welcome to participate and share their art works weekly completed and/or not, ask questions and generally communicate by expressing an opinion. I answer all questions to the best of my knowledge and give as many examples as possible. Sharing and taking pride in one’s artwork is very important. This program covers Fine and Visual Art, Bits of Graphic Design, some Math through art plus English and Art History. I will be posting links with videos and facts about certain Artists and artworks. Cost of the program is very low $52 ($100 before COVID 19) a year per family (can start at any time throughout the year). Link https://www.facebook.com/groups/651189368412935/
The programs can be entered at any time in the year.

Instructions
1. Print the sheet/s.
2. Get set with materials: scissors, glue stick, coloured paper,
Textas, fine liner, coloured pencils, led pencils HB, 2B, watercolours etc.
3. A3 cartridge paper (printing paper) or 120 page Visual Art Diary (cost is about $8) to use as support. Alternatively A4 size Diary can be used over the two pages when open. Also two A4 pages can be glued together to create A3 size.
4. The subject on the sheet/s provided can be approached in different ways. It can be cut up and prepared to be glued or used as inspiration to draw/paint/collage/write your own version.
5. Create the background for your poster. The background can be created before or after you arrange all details (written/printed facts, drawings, pictures, cutouts etc.).
6. After careful planning, glue everything on the support (A3 paper) and try to balance your negative and positive spaces.
7. Elaborate if you wish by researching extra information about the subject you are working on. Create an additional page or add info to the existing one.
8. Watch videos, documentaries with relevant information about the subject.
9. After completing the poster take a photo and post it in the group. It is important to show your work and take pride in it.
10. Write a few words how you feel about the subject under your work. Ask questions, comment, discuss. Positive discussion is a must. We need to inspire each other and make friends while working on these projects.
11. There will always be posted an example of a poster relating to the subject. You are welcome to create your poster in any way you wish. You can elaborate in the area you enjoy the most. Just remember this is not a competition but rather creative process with lots of art in it.
12. Read once to yourself all information provided. Then read it aloud to someone : sibling, friend or parents.
Thank you and happy learning! 🌺

I am planning to include some Art History for the older kids and learning about Famous Artists and their Art. Cost of the program is very low $100 a year per family. Or $39 for 10 weeks (can start at any time throughout the year).
