In 2022, Miss Burlesque & Mr Boylesque Australia competitions merged to relaunch as Mx Burlesque Australia. The Title of Mx Burlesque Western Australia is awarded to the best overall performer across 3 categories: Red carpet parade, St******se & Unique. We are also looking for a winner who will actively use their Title to promote a better community of Burlesque in Australia, and promote the community of Burlesque in Australia. Personality, performance, skill and presentation all form key parts of winning the competition. ABOUT MX BURLESQUE AUSTRALIA

Mx Burlesque Australia is the first competition in Australia to combine all feature elements of Burlesque performance and personality to win titles, crowns and prizes.

The pocket-rocket powerhouse of circus and burlesque, Matthew Pope is evocative, sensual and similarly, jarring. Recently awarded Best Debut at the 2025 Burlesque Hall of Fame, as well as being named number 24 most influential burlesquer performer in the world. After an international tour with Briefs Factory, headlining festivals in Italy and London, Matthew has been bringing cheeked-up chaos all across the globe!

Described as “a Roald Dahl character brought to life,” Veruca Sour embodies both the jazz chicken AND the egg. Winner of Mx Burlesque Western Australia 2017, troupe member and teacher at Sugar Blue Burlesque, and co-founder of Perth’s q***r collective BurLEZque, this Gollum-adjacent creature has gained a reputation for their scientifically improbable facial contortions and unhinged theatricality.

Most recently you would have seen her snatching the title of “Best MC” at the 2025 Legend Awards and performing with the multi-award winning Tone & Cheek in Tuck Shop. Whether she’s performing, producing, teaching, or hosting, Veruca is sure to leave her chaotic and eccentric stamp on everything her jazz hands touch.

Alexas Armstrong has been your friendly neighbourhood Drag Queen and a drag staple for the past 13 years. In that time she become a multi award winner, not only in performance about also producing.

Alexas is known for her high energy dance routines and having a quick wit on a microphone! With a huge love of The princess of pop, Britney Spears, This back flipping, dancing Queen will make you forget your woes and will always get the party started. You also may know her by a different name (Karl Kayoss) but she looks forward to being on this years judging panel and help shape the future of boorloo’s burlesque community.
