Perth Festival curates and presents an annual arts festival of the highest international quality. We aspire to create new work and stimulate discourse about Western Australia and our place in a complex and political world. The Festival’s ambition is to lift audience expectations and opportunities for Western Australian arts practice, contributing to a vibrant and resilient culture. Founded in 1953 by The University of Western Australia, the Perth International Arts Festival is the longest running international arts festival in Australia and Western Australia’s premier cultural event. The Festival has developed a worldwide reputation for excellence in its international program, the presentation of new works and the highest quality artistic experiences for the people of Western Australia.

One of the world’s greatest love stories, reimagined as an opera unlike anything you’ve seen before.

To the underworld and back.

A man journeys into the world of the dead to bring back the woman he loves. One impossible condition stand in his way.

A monumental staircase of light. The full force of the Latvijas Radio Koris.

Denmark’s legendary Hotel Pro Forma creates a world of striking imagery, soaring voices and movement.

Some stories are too powerful for words.

No dialogue. Just the human voice, music and stunning imagery in a landmark work of contemporary performance.

Guided by Dolina Wehipeihana, Co-Director of Aotearoa New Zealand Festival of the Arts, it runs 5-20 Feb 2027.

Are you a young digital creator? Perth Festival and Perth Audio Visual (PAV) invite you to submit artwork for projection at East Perth Power Station.

Forgeries get caught, headline run for a week, and the world moves on.

But what happens when the fake outlives the scandal?

A couple paid $8.3 million for a painting they believe was a genuine Mark Rothko.

It was fake - painted by a maths teacher from Queens, who later fled the country.

You don’t need to know about theatre to be swept up in it.

ROHTKO dives into this intoxicating world in a wildly inventive European production where art, technology, money and deception collide.
