Season recap

In what was a very testing and frustrating first season we have learnt so much and come so far. We didn’t get the results and consistency we where after but what we did get is some very valuable experience.

We will come back bigger and better next season, learn from all our mistakes and hopefully get the consistency we are searching for.

Now it’s time for some adjustments and some upgrading in a timely offseason.
With all the trouble we had this year we managed to compete in 23 out of the 25 meetings.

Raceday!
After a few weeks off we are back tonight at the Perth motorplex for the Magic Man prelude.

After a few issues in the last few meetings we are hoping our luck changes so we can start putting some better results down.

New engine, new setup hopefully we can shake that monkey off our back and have a clean run.

What a week!

After a very exhausting and testing week, we finally come out of a night with some positivity.

Night 1 car was probably the best we have had it, engine speed was really good car felt good managed to move forward and make progress really happy with how it went.

Night 2 car again was very good, had a really good run in heat 2 until I made a mistake and spun out and got sent to the rear. In the Feature the car was really good until about half way, we where challenging for 8th spot Until we lost a lot of speed and dropped a few positions. With 2 laps to go the motor decided to let go and chucked a rod through the case and blew the engine. Not how we wanted to start the busy schedule coming up.

We thought our week was done, but Jamie from pages motorsports done everything he could to get us back out there by lending me a motor to get me going. Also Cheryl Upton from 138 lending her hand and a few spares and the use of her work shop. I wouldn’t have been out there without you guys.

Night 3 battery issues is all I can say really heat 1 we where way off the pace, a broken stator was causing the battery not to charge and loosing all power I had we managed to roll around and finish that heat and got to work on the car for the next heat. With such quick turnaround we where unable to get the car out for the 2nd heat. Feature time we where off the back due to the DNS in heat 2 we made up a few positions but then unfortunately got caught up and went upside down. Wrecking the rear end of the car and the 2 wings.

Once again we thought our week was done tearing the car up pretty bad. But with my crews never die attitude we got it all together after a few midnight hours.

Night 4 after spending hours rebuilding the car we went out in heat 1 and we had a very bad vibration in the rear end this unfortunately was unbearable and that was us done for the night.

We found more bent stuff from the crash on night 3 and at this stage I was exhausted and was ready to hang up the boots. But Dave Hedington from hyper industries saved the day once again with the little time we had he got the car sorted and actually made it feel as good as it ever has. Wouldn’t have been out there without the help and assistance from him.

Night 5 finally some positivity heat 1 the car felt really good. We where lacking confidence in the car and myself as the driver. Took us awhile to get going but half way through that heat we found our groove getting some very important laps and some confidence. Heat 2 was very happy with our start, started out of P11 and got a very good start and made our way into 5th we made a little mistake and let a few cars get under but we weren’t to fussed about that the car was feeling good and we where finally happy with where we where at. Feature time and we are out of P16 got a decent start until I put my nose under a car and had to get on the brakes and unfortunately spun myself out, as I spun out we buggered our starter motor however I was able to get a push start and restart from the rear. We made up a few positions and got some very valuable laps and finished without anymore issues. Very happy with how the night went results may not have went our way but to finish with the car in one piece after the week we had was great.

A huge shoutout to my crew for the week I dished up youse guys stuck by me and never quit. The many hours youse spent repairing and replacing s**t I broke. It would have been much easier to throw the towel in but you guys dug in and kept going. Forever great full for you guys. Dad, mum, Tyler, jack, Hannah and My partner kyra. Without you guys there is nothing.

That’s the end of a very exhausting and full on week, we will be back at the Perth motorplex for round 10 of the track championship (prelude to the tittle) on the 6th of march we hope to see youse all there.

RACE DAY!!!

After a month off we are back at the Perth motorplex for a race that is named after a speedway legand johnny anderson.

After some great laps testing and changing things around on Wednesday we are happy where the car is at, hopefully we can find some car speed tonight and move forward.

Racing starts at 7pm.

*****RACE DAY*****
Tonight we are at the Perth motorplex for round 4 of the track championship. Where we currently sit just inside the top 5. We are hoping for a strong outing tonight, a few big changes from the last meeting and we finally got over our engine troubles (touch wood).

As always I wouldn’t be able to have this opportunity if it wasn’t for the help of my pitcrew and everyone that jumps in and helps out.

First heat starts at 4:20pm see you down there for a great night out.

After a long few weeks finally ready for round 2 of the Opal Finance Home Loans west coast series at Pithara Speedway Club Inc thanks to everyone that helped getting this thing back in one piece. Racing starts from 5pm Saturday the 11th of November👌

Soo last night didn’t go to plan. Night started off ordinary, car felt strange setup didn’t feel right. First heat just didn’t feel comfortable. Made a few changes for the second and the car felt really good finished 3rd in the second heat. Which put me out of 4th for the mid pack dash. Which is where the problems started got out for the dash and pulled infield before it begun had electrical problems. got back in and the battery earthed out on the brake line which caused a spark and caught a flame which put a hole in the brake line. Eventually got that fixed thanks to everyone that helped out it was pretty hectic. Went out for the feature and the car felt really good found a really good line towards the top of the track but was not much room for error which I did find out. Got abit high going into turn 3 and from there on just got caught in the loose stuff and just couldn’t bring it back down just got sucked in. All part of the learning experience, car doesn’t look too bad abit of work to do over the next week ready for round 2 of the Roof Rack City Wangara west coast series at pithara. Formula 500 debut went well
1st race wasn’t the best missed my lines quite abit and car was getting hot but it’s all part of the learning experience. 2nd heat was much better hit a better line and managed to keep the pace up. Feature race went well however couldn’t find the right line in turn 1 and 2 and kept drifting up the track a fair bit but other then that I’m happy with how the night went. Thanks to everyone that came down and supported me the support was really overwhelming and I appreciate the support from each and everyone of youse. As every Motorsport you just can’t do it with the help of a few good mates and family I appreciate everyone that swung a spanner and was there to give me motivation and help out I couldn’t do it without youse. Aswell as a big thanks to Xtreme Bounce Party Hire KR personal training, Pinion clothing and hyper industries.

Next race we head to moora for round 1 of the west coast formula series on this coming Saturday the 28th

The Calendar is Out!

With snippets of the calendar having been released over the last few days, the Formula 500’s WA committee are proud tonight to finally reveal the full 2023/24 season calendar!

With a huge twenty-four nights of racing on offer across the season taking in the Opal Finance Home Loans Perth Motorplex Track Championship, the West Coast Series, the Fast Racing Series at the Perth Motorplex and the WA Title, drivers will have plenty of chances to get laps in, and plenty of chances to win!

The season kicks off in earnest at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday the 21st of October, with the now annual Powerpalooza event, the first of a huge twelve nights of Super Speedway action that form the Opal Finance Home Loans Perth Motorplex Track Championship.

This will be followed by the already announced opening two rounds of the West Coast Series at Moora and Pithara, while drivers then return to the Motorplex on the 17th of November for the first of five FAST Racing Series events, which will again be a separate Championship at the venue.

Formula 500’s again form part of the Scardifield Smash Repairs King of Wings event on the 18th of November, and after more FAST and West Coast Series rounds, return for the Muster event on the 28th of January and the first event of the New Year on the 2nd of January.

After racing at Margaret River for the fourth round of the West Coast Series and then Esperance for the WA Title, racing returns to the Motorplex for some huge events including the Johnny Andersson Classic, two special Wednesday night shows and of course the Krikke Boys Shootout.

The season will come to a close with two more FAST Racing Series shows, the Silver Cup and Grand Final events at the Perth Motorplex and then the Kalgoorlie West Coast Series finale on the 20th of April.

It is going to be a huge season and no matter which way you turn, or which track you attend, there is going to be plenty of action!
