On her new album, Kate Miller-Heidke returns to her musical roots - while pushing further into the unknown than ever before. A striking fusion of gothic folk, theatrical storytelling, cinematic soundscapes, and avant-garde textures, the new album finds one of Australia’s most singular voices at her most fearless, expansive and self-assured. Kate takes the folk music that was the first love of her songwriting youth, and refracts it through a darker, more experienced lens, to focus on the ills - and the hopes - of the modern world.
