KYLA-RAE ASWORTH is a musician, performer and educator. She is active across a wide range of performance spaces, including classical, folk, contemporary/experimental and improvisation. Kyla-Rae has performed and toured internationally with both the Australian Youth Orchestra and the West Australian Youth Orchestra across Europe, China, Japan and Singapore.

PEDRO ALVAREZ is an independent composer, improviser, educator and activist born in Chile. Having been professionally trained in the European classical tradition, in recent years his musical practice has increasingly focused on free improvisation and Andean folk music, looking for meaningful ways of articulating these three musical streams in his creative work.

CALLUM O'REILLY is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and multimedia artist. He enjoys pushing traditional convention and contorting the limits of the classical ensemble. He incorporates elements of electronic music, hip-hop, pop, and modern jazz, creating sonic worlds that are original and deeply embedded in modern culture while also murmuring the musical legacy of the past.

🔹

ACCESSIBILITY: Please note the venue is not wheelchair accessible. There are two flights of steps leading to the small exhibition space. Cushions and some chairs will be provided. Toilets are located inside the space.

In 2022, Phonetic Orchestra received an APRA Art Music Award for their performance Silent Towns.

"Pony-Time are an amplified duo with cinematic overtures for films that don't exist. Cheesy concept art leanings for cheese lovers, feeding an evolving wave of cumulative, cascading sonic debris. With self-help dating cassettes chopped and looping all the while.. a fine briney mist.

Ozlem Kesik is a composer and visual artist whose work traces fragile ecologies suspended on the shifting threshold of regeneration and collapse. Hisham Ismail’s shuffly mood-based rhythmic interludes and loop based percussive amblings lend themselves into the realms of the imaginal."

Valentina Macias is a Perth-based pianist and composer known for her expressive, engaging performances and warm, intimate sound. Following the success of her debut show JUST ABOVE WATER she has been invited to perform locally and regionally, appearing in venues such as The Ellington Jazz Club, Lyrics Underground, The Bird and Denmark's Red Gum Pass Festival.

Her solo piano set is a trust fall—an exploration of presence, mood, and touch, searching for colours and textures that capture the depths of her emotions.

Meet you online 'cause of COVID.

Between May and June of 2020, Outcome Unknown presented a series of online talks featuring Boorloo artists and curators.

Pedro Alvarez articulated the diverse musical streams in his work; namely Western Art Music, Free Improvisation and Andean traditions.

Music technologist Meg Travers shared her journey of building, collecting and playing "ancient" electronic instruments such as the Trautonium.

And beloved organiser Amir Barber-Skwarko discussed Hearts of Darkness, the ever changing platform for underground culture in Boorloo.

Thanks to them and to everyone who joined us during that time.
