Wow, what an incredible time we had at Dwellingup Crochet Escapes 2024 at the beautiful — done and dusted, but oh, the memories we’ve made! 🌟

There were heaps of crochet WIPs and tips flying around, plenty of friendly chatter, and the most gorgeous charity square project inspired by The Granny Square Card Deck by Claire Montgomerie (clairemontyknits). Add to that the amazing gourmet meals from Wild Thyme Gourmet, a scrumptious breakfast at Dwellingup Blue Wren Cafe, refreshing cider tastings at , and all the kangaroos, emus, ducks, and crisp country air you could ever want—it was pure magic for the soul. 💖

And guess what? Plans for Easter 2025 are already in the works! If you’d like to join us for another soul-nourishing adventure, send us a PM, and we’ll make sure you get all the details soon. Spots are super limited—just 18 beds—so don’t wait too long! 🌸

Well that’s a wrap! The first Crochet Escapes Tunisian Crochet 2 Day Beginners Course has been completed ✅

Join Michelle Rainsforth, aka our "Tunisian Queen" & myself, Carolynne Cannon, an accredited Crochet Guild Australia Teacher, in Subiaco for a fun & informative Crochet, Lunch & Learn Day discovering the techniques of Tunisian Crochet!

In these 4.5 hour workshops, held over 2 consecutive Saturdays, we will provide an introduction to the world of Tunisian Crochet. From its origins, sometimes referred to as "The Afghan" stitch, to the tools used to create dense thick fabrics or light lacy work.

You will learn:
🧶 Stitch anatomy
🧶 Tension & avoiding the “curl”
🧶 Foundation row, forward & return pass tips.
🧶 5 basic stitches

💠 Jill’s Summer Squares Top 🧶

✅ Thanks for your EOIs, it’s a goer ✅

⏰ 10am - 2.30pm

To learn the skills needed to complete this 4.5 hour workshop, Designer Jill suggests to make a small top for kids or teenagers first. Jill has used 8 ply cotton to make this top, however 4 ply cotton for a small top is a good choice too.

✳️ The number of squares and the process of making the top is the same for all sizes. The only thing that changes is the size of the squares to fit an adult.

🔽 Important Info! 🔽

❇️ Top (as pictured) requires 10 full squares & 7 half squares (on the diagonal) or 6 half squares for a V neck.
❇️ You will need to bring a minimum of 6 full squares & 2 half squares to the workshop.
❇️ You can use ANY YARN, ANY PLY & ANY PATTERN for your squares.
❇️ The size requirements of the squares & further information will be shared via email upon booking.

If you’re keen to attend & haven’t already “Expressed an Interest”, please add your name in comments. Places will be offered on a first come, first serve basis.
