helped me snap some photos of a White Gold and Chrysoprase Afghan in a 8 month old Nostril I pierced last year. If you’re a regular on the piercing side of Instagram you’ll be very aware that chrysoprase was 100% “that b* ” of genuine stones in body jewellery of 2025 so this was fun to do.
If you have ever had a nostril piercing from me or even asked me what my favourite piercing to do is you’ll hear me say nostril! For a few reasons I think?… A big one is that it was my first facial piercing, so I think they are kind of nostalgic. But also I honestly think they are sooo beautiful, nothing is more satisfying than a perfectly executed and flush piece of jewellery on a nostril, or a ring that fits exactly how the client wanted after months of healing because the time and care was taken with placement on the day it was pierced.
I love seeing all my piercings in this stage of healing it’s literally what I put all my energy into at that initial appointment and subsequent check ups. But there’s something else that taking these photos brought up in my mind. In my piercing journey I have always been a little self conscious about aligning safe piercing with gems and gold. Trying to transition to quality jewellery earlier in my career when the price point of quality titanium was far more than people in my area were used to paying. I was constantly having a lot of long conversations educating clients about something I was still trying to educate myself about.
But hear me out.. 😅 this piece of jewellery looks the same today as it did 9months ago and it will look the same years from now. Because in the same way I approach piercings thinking about how they will be best worn for the client their entire life this jewellery is doing the same. The quality settings of the jewellery and the absence of any plating means this jewellery is a lifelong investment. That’s not even touching on the benefits of the health of your piercing. So my thoughts? An ASTM F136 titanium disk in a nostril is just as high quality, just as safe and I love it just as much! But if you’re having it forever? White gold and Chrysoprase is a pretty solid choice also 😏✨
