Buy anyway here is a portrait i did of a very special work colleague. She is my supervisor and very chill, except for when she shouts at me demanding treats.

Came home from work to find this exciting package from
Brook is a Native American Scholar whose amazing work aims to bring together water rights and Native American knowledge through engineering, public policy, and social action.

Anyone who knows my youngest daughter Ruby also knows about the great love she has for lampreys. For her fifth birthday, all she wanted was a soft and cuddly lamprey toy that she could tuck in to bed with her at night 🥰 and I am a sucker for supporting my kids niche interests.
But do you think I could find a lamprey toy anywhere?! Nope!! Many people don't even know that lampreys exist, let alone want to snuggle up with one.
But then I happened to encounter Brook's interesting work and decided to reach out to see if one could be shipped all the way to Australia.
Ruby was absolutely over the moon about her package, which also thoughtfully included a cool pamphlet about Chinook Salmon and Pacific Lamprey. The lampreys face is so cute, and there is even a little magnet in its mouth so that it can attach on to things.
10/10, so cool!

Hi everyone!! 🤩
In case you didn't notice.. I haven't posted anything in about 10 months lol. Life had me so busy and working all my buttons off. But I've dialed it all back now and I'm making time for art again, because it's essential for my functioning.

🥰 Here's some more of the huge ink and watercolour poster I've had so much fun doing for my playgroup.

I've used the local English common names for the plants and animals, since the poster is for littlies. It is mostly a prompt to get them thinking and talking about the different plants and animals they see around Nyungar boodja.

I actually have another page in the works as well. Thinking about gauging the interest in these as prints- for kids at home, in classrooms or other playgroups.. anywhere theyd be useful really 🤔

How do you feel when you see this painting?

This aim of this painting was just to experiment a new material and technique, but I'm totally in love with it. I feel like I ended up pouring my soul into it. When I look at it I feel pride and a sense of peace.

I'll try to make a little reel about it soon for you all, rather than just writing it all here. I feel like I've found a medium and material that really works for me!
