Matta’s artistic research explores space, light, memory and perception.
Her distinctive visual language emerges through the fragmentation and overlapping of pictorial planes, creating what has been described as a “liquid vision” of reality. More recently, her work has incorporated the concept of the digital glitch—the visual error or interruption—as a contemporary metaphor for instability, memory and the imperfect nature of perception.
In Matta’s Greenhouse works, vegetation becomes more than a subject: it becomes an inner landscape, a place where nature, memory and emotion coexist. Her paintings transform architecture and botanical spaces into poetic environments that feel simultaneously familiar and enigmatic.
