The super amazing cool thing I got to do the weekend gone for Balingup Medieval Carnivale with our new ensemble. The Merry Mischief Makers

Singing/ playing for the local faire folk of Bailingup as apart of the dragon burning pre-show. Joined alongside partners in mischief and merriment Simon Vanyai and Riley Murphy ....for a few thousand people up a top a "castle"! 🏰

It was a great honor and privilege to be trusted for this moment as a part of our premier. We thank Fran and the entertainment team for the fun opportunity -- It was actually Frans's idea when she first hired me in years past to have me perform from this location, but due to technicalities and weather we could never make it happen... this was the year! 🐲🔥🧚‍♀️🪉🎶🎻🥁

Proof that humans and kids are inherently musical!! 🎶
Nothing warmed my heart more than watching kids as early as pram, 1-2 to 80yrs old engaged and nodding along to the harp.

What's so great about the harp is accessibility to all ages and levels. Not a whole lot of pressure is required for the strings to make sound, making it playable for little or old fragile fingers! (also diatonic or mode-able so the note you play will be in the correct key!)

I was too busy being present in the moment and digitally detoxing.. so if you do have any great photos taken at the fair with the harps and at the harp tent if you could kindly send through? About last night!

Loved being invited back to play for Drink & Draw WA live drawing to live music The Local Hotel South Freo.

Can you hear my loop pedal in action! - stoked to play around with this new found effect. (Tht was in my speaker this whole time)
Something very cathartic about being in flow while artists are inflow! 🎨🪉

Viking spam 3/3...*/4?

Learnt quite a lot on this last gig series - 7 nights of Viking dinners for Christmas in July @ The Guildford.

Learnt that my medieval and folk material didn't cross over very well into ambient space music so I had to pivot very quickly! Lucky I had some backing tracks on hand swedish music as Plan B.

I ended up using some incredible backing tracks that I could play along to..(shh...dnt tell anyone they a german band) ALSO.. first time using my loop pedal function on my amp, which was surprisingly easy! Not sure why I've put it off for the past four or five years.

First time using backing tracks for a live gig!
First time I played flute and drums and Swedish lyrics in one set ...let alone in one go!!
First time improvising in a solo set and over myself
..Also first time dressing up as a Viking! Not looking forward to returning the costume but might just have to get my own one made up.
Learnt there might be some Viking in my blood after all, or at least the music is.

Viking spam series! 2/3..

The not so sxy part.. Spoiler alert - not actually a Viking.(unless you go by whatever 0.Percentage is in my blood)
But I definitely am a musician with bills to pay and responsibilities to keep.. and needing to set up and back down all the equipment and gear.

It's usually not too painful as solo artist and somehow everything manages to fit into a Hyundi i20.. but I think this particular time I ended up having the full set up PLUS I had brought along some fun decorations for the Guildford Hotel Function Hall ( I also hadn't removed the spare tyre tht was just sitting in my boot that I forgot about)

Anyway I hope you enjoy this little window into my real life!

Where in the world can you get a harp, gongs, singing bowls and more in an ancient cave in a national park! This is an extremely unique and special event, a real treat to recover from the stress and worries of the world! I'd get a ticket if I were you!
