We sing popular music ranging from 1950s to present day. We also strongly encourage requests from our members; we are here for you! Do you perform in public? We hold an annual showcase for our friends and family, to raise money to fund choir (we are a not for profit). We also attend other choir events around the state from time to time. Do you need to be able to read music? We do not use musical s
cores. We provide lyric sheets and teach each part individually and then put the parts together to create beautiful harmonies! We also provide access to practice tracks so you can continue practising at home. Do I have to know how to sing? Our members are not required to have a musical background, just their enjoyment for singing in a group. There are no auditions and you do not need any prior experience. What section of choir do I belong in? If you are unsure which section best suits your voice, we can guide you during your taster session. You can also change to a different section if it feels more comfortable for your range. How many songs do we teach? Depending on complexity, we try to teach 7-10 songs per term. When we are preparing for a showcase, we also spend time going over each song every week to keep them fresh in your mind. When and where are rehearsals held? We run choir rehearsals from The Civic Hotel, 921 Beaufort Street, Inglewood every Tuesday (during school terms) from 19:00 - 20:30. We often meet slightly earlier to share a drink and a chat beforehand. How much does it cost? We offer a free taster session. If you decide to return, classes are $15.00 per night. We prefer members pay by bank transfer and for the whole term (10 weeks = $150). If this is not possible, payment plans can be put in place. How old are your members? We are a very eclectic bunch! We have men and women from 18-99 from all walks of life. The one thing we all have in common is our love of singing.
