(Not So) Great Expectations has teamed up with Opportunity International Australia for a short film fundraiser in support of their Women's Safety Program.

(Not So) Great Expectations will screen alongside female directed, local made short films at The Backlot Perth on Wednesday, 13th of September 2023.

As our festival run comes to an end, the (Not So) Great Expectations team would like to say one last thank you for all of your wonderful support! 💛

We started working on this film in March 2021 as our major university project. Over 2 years later our short film has screened at film festivals across the globe, won awards and received great reception.

Our final public screening will be held at Revelation Film Festival festival during the Westralia Shorts #2 Session on July 15th at The Backlot Perth. Last night Lauren Campbell was awarded ’Outstanding Achievement in Performance Under 18’ at the WA Screen Culture Awards
for her performance in (Not So) Great Expectations! We feel very privileged to receive an award amongst such talent.
We are so proud of Lauren! ⭐️

This time last year the production of (Not So) Great Expectations came to a wrap and our short film was sent to film festivals around the globe. Today our film has been selected by 10 film festivals from India to LA to Toronto and Sydney.

As student filmmakers we are so proud of our short film and want to thank everyone who donated or supported us in bringing our creation to life.

Our time at film festivals is not over yet so keep an eye out for more big news!

What was your favourite moment of filming NSGE? It was honestly finding out about the Lana costumes on set/ getting into them. Lana is a wicked girl but a HORRIBLE stylist so seeing her outfits were always a good laugh

What’s a fun fact about yourself? I myself am NOT a big sister. I’m the absolute baby of my family and I sure as hell act like it too! big sister responsibility does not suit me!

Any secret talents? I can solve a Rubik’s cube in under 3 mins!
