My demo for Pastel Society of WA on Monday night using Pastelmat paper.
After a warm day the soft glow appears in the dunes. A great time to wind down, explore and love our environment.
Thanks to my pastel pals for your encouragement and support... what a lovely group to be a member of and fantastic medium to paint with. Go Pastels!!!

A little Plein Air Oil of the bridge to the island. Felt like Venice! ..and its just over an a hour south of Perth.
A lovely island neighbour bought it so its gone to a good home!

A fantastic few days painting with 3 art pals...great conversations getting to know each other more, dolphins in the canal daily gliding through the water below our balcony, birds nesting in boats and gardens protecting their eggs with raucous squawking, morning sunshine walks just around to the beach... so good!

It's a grey day! Perth was lashed by a severe storm yesterday and through the night..the first winter storm this year. Horrendous winds leaving devastating results...I'm still here!! Living by the coast has its moments!
This little oil painting was of a road in Tasmania and painted while I was there recently. ..they get lots of 'grey' days being further south. It just reminded me of clouds and wet roads. Drive safely everyone xx

Demo Pastel for Trigg Art Society last Friday. It's of a scene in beautiful Tasmania in Winaleah where I recently had fun with a group of pals, staying at The Enclave and painting Plein Air daily.
Trigg Art group were enthusiastic about my demo and I might have converted a few to pastels!!

In beautiful Tasmania recently at The Enclave for a week of Plein Air painting with friends from WA. This is day 1 and Gillian took us to one of her favourite spots with lush green grass and blue mountains.

On a recent trip to stay at The Enclave out from Launceston, Tasmania.
Pastel. The mountains are so blue down there, the grass is a different green, such a lovely remote area.

I am thrilled and grateful to receive the Grand Prize award at the 130th Western Australian Society of Arts exhibition 2026.
My pastel 'Hawterville Rd ', has sold to an appreciative buyer...thankyou.
Congratulations to the section winners of this amazing exhibition on until 2pm tomorrow at the South Perth Community Centre, WA.
280 artworks....there's time to see it!
Free parking and entry.

This scene is from near Balingup, south WA and special to me. I have walked Hawterville Rd many times especially as the sun goes down, just enjoying the long grasses, the trees, the distant farms and the 'quiet'...
