IMPORTANT TRAVEL INFO FOR PEOPLE DRIVING TO Menagerie's Wide Open Road
Thank you so much to everyone who has bought a ticket so far. We are super excited for a fun evening with you starting Wednesday!
*Please ensure you read the important message below about road closures, access and parking for the Naval Store in Fremantle. The most important thing is that you allow plenty of extra time to get to the venue, as there are some detours in place. Enjoy a short walk to the venue, and we will be ready to welcome you with drinks and more when you arrive!*
Parking and access to Naval Store
- There is no dedicated parking lot for The Naval Store. It is accessed by foot via Canning Hwy, or via the stairs at the west side of Tuckfield Oval, just south-east/above Naval Store.
- You can find street parking in the vicinity - we recommend aiming for the streets up behind Naval Store. (South of Naval Store.) Places like Officeworks Fremantle (a very short way down Queen Victoria St) are also good options - Officeworks is only a 7 minute walk to Naval Store. If you leave extra time and expect a short walk, you’ll be fine!
Disabled parking
- This is available up at Tuckfield Oval, with a ramp down to Naval Store. (Please note it is a long-ish ramp with some 180 degree turns.)
Road closures in the vicinity
The following closures are in place from Tuesday 27th through to Saturday 31st of Jan:
- Intersection of Canning Hwy and Stirling Hwy - can no longer drive east and west on Canning Hwy through this intersection. (Can still travel north to south on Stirling Hwy.)
- Fremantle Traffic Bridge - expect this to be closed from 7pm. It is still open prior to this, but expect delays. You also can’t turn left onto Canning Hwy from here - see below.
What you need to do:
- Crossing the Fremantle Traffic Bridge: plan to cross before 7pm and expect delays due to roadworks. (Stirling Hwy is probably a better option.) From here, you will need to turn right onto Canning Hwy/Queen Victoria St. Either find parking west of Naval Store, or make a U-turn and come back the other way, turning right onto Tuckfield St to find parking up behind the venue.
- Crossing the Stirling Hwy bridge north to south: cross the bridge, turn right onto Marmion St, right onto East St, left onto Canning Hwy, then left up Tuckfield St to access the parking behind Naval Store.
If you’re coming from the south, you may be golden! Just avoid going as far as Canning Hwy (highway to hell - don’t worry - we will sing about it later!)
Bar and snacks, cashless only
Yes, we are running a bar each night from 7pm, and there will be snacks available! Delish Ice will also be adorning the event with delightful popsicles. There will be plenty to enjoy before and after the show.
Please note the bar will be EFTPOS only - no cash payments accepted. Thank you!
