In October 2020, renowned land artist Elaine Clocherty along with local artists Elise Marshall and Renae Whyte teamed up with local cultural advisor Kandice Hansen to create an impressive land art display among the scenic pathways of Champion Lakes.

This artwork was created in response to Covid19 and how important Champion Lakes was for many people who came for a walk in this beautiful nature space and found refuge. The outer form of the artwork is inspired by the local reeds where the ducks and birds make their homes. We invite you to go for a walk through the work, adding your footprints in celebration of our home, this living earth. Then if you feel like it we would love you to take a selfie with the work and post it to our page.

Recent land art made during a school holiday arts program at the Champion Centre with artist Renae Whyte. It showcases the 6 seasons in Aboriginal culture. Land Artist Elaine Clocherty & local Artists Elise Marshall & Renae Whyte will begin installing land art at Champion lakes in just a few weeks! 😎This piece is on view for a few weeks and is located between the Centre and the Library on Champion Drive.
