Little River Band remains the only Australian group to achieve Top 10 hits in the United States every year from 1978 to 1982, with more than thirty million records sold worldwide. The Boys exploded onto the Perth music scene in 1977, and their talent quickly caught the attention of Festival Records and Parole Records, who signed the band and took them into the studio. The Boys released their debut single “When You're Lonely” — a track that stormed to #1 on the Western Australian charts. Follow-up singles “Hurt Me Babe” and “Weoh Weoh Weoh” also broke into the national Top 100, culminating in an invitation to perform on the legendary ABC TV program “Countdown.”
