📣 90s Perth legends bucket will reunite here on Sat Jan 4 to launch the 30th Anniversary reissue of their debut release ‘Flounder’!

For the first time since 1994 ‘Flounder’ will be available on CD and limited edition 10” Vinyl with original artwork upscaled to suit the new format, out through Igloo Records.

Formed in 1993, Bucket hit the burgeoning indie scene of the time with aplomb. By their 25th show they had supported practically every national and international touring indie act culminating in an appearance at the legendary Big Day Out festival. As their 2016 reunion proved, good music is timeless and stands just as strong today as it did to thousands in the dying days of the last century.

Joining the band for this special show will be the raw rock and husky vocals of Sascha Ion & The Elements, indie-folk supergroup Good News Now We Can Eat All The Vampires, and opening the night will be exactly one half of Turnstyle doing something with a guitar and a Casio keyboard.

Bernard "Buddy" Rich was an American jazz drummer and bandleader known for his virtuosic technique, power and speed and was frequently billed as "the world's greatest drummer”. During his long career he performed with many bandleaders, most notably Tommy Dorsey, Harry James and Count Basie. Buddy lead his own jazz orchestra from 1945 - 48 after which he formed many excellent small groups releasing numerous records playing drums and as a jazz vocalist. From 1967 Buddy led his newly formed "Buddy Rich Big Band” which produced some of the most exciting big band music over the next twenty years. The band personal would change over those years but with each new line-up came players of the highest order driven by Buddy’s relentless drumming and demanding leadership 🥁

📣 Just announced // Charm Of Finches at Lyric's Underground // Thurs Feb 27 📣

Australian sister duo Charm of Finches delivers intricate folk-pop that is simultaneously graceful and darkly bewitching. Their seamless blood harmonies traverse melancholy and wonder in equal measure.

They return performing songs from their latest album as well as exciting new material. The sisters, Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes, have toured extensively through the UK, Europe and Canada in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Their fourth studio album ‘Marlinchen In The Snow’ was recorded in rural Nova Scotia with acclaimed Canadian producer Daniel Ledwell (Jenn Grant, Oh Pep!), inspired by the frozen beauty of the landscape and their transient life on the road with their music. It was released on iconic Australian Indie label S***k Records in April 2024, debuting on the national ARIA charts Top 30 Aus Albums.

Their third album ‘Wonderful Oblivion’ released in 2021 through New York-based label AntiFragile Music saw them win the Australian Folk Music Awards Best Folk Album (2022) and Music Victoria Best Contemporary Folk Act (2021).

They have been nominated twice for the prestigious Australian Music Prize.
